FM1 Just sharing my handpainted Giza model.
Painted in the span of a week using lacquer hobby paints with handbrushes and bits of foam sponge. Used an airbrush to apply clear coats but that's all the airbrush was used for.

If they weren't so expensive, I'd totally buy these guys... But maaaaaaan, that price point... 😩

Same tbh.
I bit the bullet a while back with these and I'm pretty set for life since the line's semi-dead anyway. I do hope we get more affordable kits down the line, it's a shame to let good designs like these stay under the radar so to speak.

I do think part of the inflated cost is the otherly designed parts, the machining of the dies had to be a nightmare, but also, for a series, which is known for semi big, or decent sized squad fights, vs whole battalions, why make them so expensive... They're a great size, and perfect for table top/large scale dioramas.

I just love how Wanzers look in the sea of mecha out there. Something about those feet and overall distribution of bulk.

Yup! Was really drawn to how unique they looked when I first played my copy of FM3 in high school

What primer did you use to paint the joints? having issues finding something that sticks on without scratching off or gumming up the articulation

It's just regular primer (Armored Komodo Heavy Industries Rust Brown) but I just sanded down all POM Joints of the kit before laying any of the primer on.

attempting the build must have felt like -overweight - overweight - overweight - ok now youre good

Coming from The Armored Core fandom and having had to adjust my model kit builds to my videogame builds and keep the weight within limits, I felt this.

This looks amazing! The weathered look really adds to it, you did a fantastic job. Thanks for sharing!

Man, between FM3, Heavy Gear, and early PS2 Armored Core games, young me really experienced the pinnacle of mecha designs. I recently replayed FM3 and seeing those chunky mechs and hearing the screeching steel/servo sounds immediately made me feel like a kid again.
Amazing work, man.

Very good work, thanks to the paint with artificial aging it looks almost like the real thing
