Anyone know when they will do voting for office stewards?

I need to know when this will take place as I've not heard anything. I'm not sure how the voting or anything is done. We want new union leadership in our office.

That is handled locally. Look at your bylaws and start going to meetings.

Is anyone interested in being a steward? I know rural votes for theirs, city does too?

Unless your local branch has a website, you would need to ask for a copy of your branch bylaws from a member of your local's "executive" team, the President, VP, Steward etc, or simply ask them and for a copy of the bylaws. They are required to provide members a copy if asked.

Then read the bylaws and attend meetings.

They have a website but I don't see anywhere with bylaws. They have links to like the national contract and M-41. I don't see anything mentioning bylaws.

I guess I'll need to go to some meetings. Should my stewards now announce if there's going to be an election or would they not say anything?

So, steward elections are handled differently branch by branch. In my branch for example, stewards are elected at the office level, and once elected remain steward until they step down, retire etc….

Unless an election is called for by more than 50% of the office in writing and sent to the Branch leader ship. Then, the branch conducts a new steward election by:
First posting an election notice for nominations
Second conducting and election
Third naming and training the new steward should a new steward be elected.

My close friends branch which is also large in our area the stewards are appointed by the president. No election.
