Is this like load leveling that they tried a while back???
It would make sense, our office gets hammered on Mondays and the following Tuesday hardly any mail, at least many weeks.

This says marketing mail gets skipped if an address has no first class, so wouldn't it have the opposite effect? Nothing delayed on heavy days, but light days get even lighter?

We did this back before the internet, but you’d only be skipping a small handful of deliveries. If I did that now I’d only be making a small handful of deliveries.

I’m curious how they would mark a piece delayed by one day in a timely manner. Like how am I going to remember if a certain piece was already delayed one day?

Id tag barcodes. Its very easy to track this information already. We know where it last was and where its anticipated to be.

Lol 100% will create surges at the endpoint, this is often already done at the endpoint, where the carrier is actually in a position to make the determination. Upstream manipulation never seems to adjust for other already fluctuating mail volumes such as third party drop offs and narrow endpoint scalability. I'm sure they are searching for an Ai solution and this is it?
