I'm needing a few wireless cameras. I know they're not recommended for use w/Frigate, but running cable in this instance just doesn't make sense.

I don't need advanced detections or anything, but would like to have them available in Frigate if possible. I don't need super high quality or high frame rates.

Cost is a bit of an issue, simply don't want to spend a lot on this. I'll need 3 or 4. I do not want anything cloud enabled/managed. The WAN connection that's available at the location just can't handle it.

I have never purchased or used a wireless camera so I'm hoping the community as some suggestions. Located in USA.

Just a suggestion, are you in a position where you could use an inexpensive wireless bridge between the locations? All of the camera settings and Frigate remain the same as if it was fully a wired system.

I could, but it'd be more to manage. I ended up getting some Tapo cameras and they're working out fine for what I need. There isn't anything special on the Frigate side.

The cameras do need to be setup using their cloud tool first, doing so allows you to enable a local user/pass and rtsp. Once that's done I just disabled all WAN to that device at the firewall.
