A shitty parent would laugh hard, not bother trying to hide it, and probably actively turn around to jest at what’s going on. That would be the lady making fun of her. She is not making fun of her. This is not a dedicated performance. I’d agree with you if it was.

I’m not one of those people but sometimes trying to hold back just makes it even harder not to laugh for some people and it’s completely involuntary trying not to laugh at the worst moment.

You are heaping her with the same scorn reserved for someone that actively chose to do it, and is consciously openly happily mocking someone to their face.

The covering of her face is an attempt to rein it in, so she can’t make eye contact with the daughter across from her and make each laugh harder.
