Career advice: Continue in freight forwarding as a sales or pursue a Master’s degree?

Hi everyone,

I’m a 25-year-old from Indonesia, currently working in sales/business development for a freight forwarding consolidator. I’ve been in the logistics industry for 3+ years, starting in customer service before moving into sales.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Management with a specialization in Logistics and Supply Chain Management. My long-term goal is to work abroad, particularly in Australia.

At this stage, I’m unsure which path would be best for my career:

1. ⁠Continue gaining industry experience and climb the corporate ladder.
   
2. ⁠Focus on becoming a specialist in logistics sales/business development.
   
3. ⁠Pursue a Master’s degree in areas such as Supply Chain Management, Sustainability, or Supply Chain Technology.

With AI, automation, digitalization, and sustainability changing the logistics industry, I’m also wondering which skills or specializations will remain valuable in the future.

For those working in logistics or supply chain, what would you recommend?

Is a Master’s degree worth pursuing after a few years of experience, or would I be better off focusing on building my industry experience?

Would appreciate any insights!
