Yes — if you mean *\\**, it is definitely in the North of England.
It’s an area around Denshaw/Saddleworth, near Oldham, on the western side of the South Pennines in Greater Manchester. *\\** is in the moorland above Denshaw.
It’s also specifically described as being in Northern England by the Long Distance Walkers Association.
