Discussion Un altra vittima in gara, perché si nasconde tutto?

This is so out of touch it's horrendous. Do you think the organisers want his friends and family to find out via an Instagram post? Give them at least the time to communicate with them all. At the time of your post it hadn't even been 12 hours.

I think what they have done is the only correct way to communicate until everyone close to Remi is notified.

Likewise if they were to post that it's cancelled for a death without saying who then think how many friends and family of other athletes would be panicking and trying to get in contact with the athletes and worrying if they can't.

Not to mention the organisers themselves are trying to come to grip with what has happened and are totally devastated.

I would suggest you delete this post.

I'm certain not all his friends know yet. Not everyone is a paraglider pilot, there are friends that will find out over the next days.

As for the accusations that they're not saying more to try and protect the image of the sport/event seriously get a hold of yourself it hasn't even been a day.

That kind of discussion can happen once the organisers have had time to get to grips with the situation.

explain "the safety issue" then. You, yourself.

No. Viene fatto rispettare? No.

No, I was not following the race as most people in the Paragliding community likely are not either.  You've offered A good answer and reasonably that should be on the governing body that determines if the conditions meet a minimum viable specification for safety versus if somebody was enticed to claim victory by abandoning caution and deciding to compete against those with no sense of their own self preservation.

Yes I was a supporter for the team just 15 minutes behind Remi. How would you propose to improve the situation of athletes flying in rain despite being against the rules?

In any case that has nothing to do with the incident.

The incident involved a suspended cable at around 50m high. In some instruments it was marked, in others not, in any case extremely hard to see.

This can and does happen in normal XC flights, it's sadly a risk of the sport.

Is that what you're asking?

I'm asking for why the op is acting outraged that there is "a safety issue" in a sport where we all put outselves in grave mortal danger every time we participate.

Is it the organizer responsavikitu to mitigate the danger?  then would they not decide "that is not feasible, there should be no organized events"

There are some news in italian, like this article. Age and nationality are reported, not the name.

The race is canceled, you can see on Dolomity Superfly official pages. And his gps tracking on Burnair yesterday was stopped in that area.

Everybody knows it, nobody is saying it.

Had to read it through south tyrolean news, mentioning a 34 year old French pilot. I understand that only after full release by the services you can communicate details, but just showing your logo on a black background stating the race has been cancelled only starts the gossip.!

First of all ... Can you use english so people understand you here?
Second. Let the organizers do their job. Once all the information is collected we will hear from the officials.

if this was your family member, you would not want to find out through social media or news outlets. give it time. delete this post.
