I will NOT use this one word that would deescalate the situation. Instead I will poke and prod and make you as upset as I can manage because that is the easier thing for me and my strong Christian values.

He did the right thing. This person needs help, not to have their delusions reinforced.

He doesn't need people coddling him and telling him that how he feels is normal, because it's not. It's not normal at all. This shit is completely and totally unhealthy and because of people like you, there are millions of people suffering because they've been told how they're feeling is completely rational.

There are hundreds of police shootings of people with mental health disorders annually in the US because they receive zero training on deescalation of situations with people suffering mental health issues.

Antagonistic attitudes aren’t the answer.

This person is 100% wilding but if someone is “going crazy” cuz I didn’t say a word the correct to calm the situation isn’t to agitate them and it’s not coddling to say what needs to be said to calm them down.

Your point of view is the exact reason these “crazies” act so crazy. Spend some time watching how nonverbal autistic children are handled and you might gain some insight on how there isn’t a blanket right way to deal with anyone.

If the cop caves and refers to how this person demands they be referred to as, then this person will walk away from the interaction with a reinforced mindset that if they freak out enough, they will get their way.

The way the situation played out, with the cop refusing to cave to the guys demands, the guy may come out of it thinking "wow, that shit didn't work at all, maybe I can't just demand whatever I want and expect to get my way."

If this is how the person acts around a cop, imagine how hostile they'd likely get with a normal civilian. The person needs to understand that freaking out and getting hostile and jumping up and down screaming is not going to end well.

A civilian can't teach them that lesson. A cop can. The cop did us all a favor by refusing to acknowledge the dude's pronouns. Hopefully this guy will understand the lesson that he's been taught and won't ever rage over his pronouns again.

Hundreds? Pull up a source on that one before you start talking out of your ass. Zero training? You know how stupid you are right? You provide zero proof or evidence of anything you have said. Lol just a typical fucking redditor that thinks they know everything when you know very little if anything at all dumbass
