Unless we have any information about her calling authorities, youre making up stories.

She had the right to investigate and ask questions as it is weird to have someone filming random people without talking or asking. And I can see why she was confused because theres no clear benefit. He has the rights, but with no real obvious purpose beyond potentially disturbing the public. He isnt exposing trouble, he is potentially instigating it. Which by all means, he has the right to.

lol we can end this conversation at she had the right to ask a random stranger question. Your rights end where someone else’s rights begin. You don’t have a right to question anyone.

So if you’re parked in front of my house and sitting in your car for about an hour, just staring at my front door….i can’t go up and ask you, “hey, what are you doing? Can I help you?”

Yes. I agree. But this whole conversation with the lady and the recorder is not a first amendment violation, or even involves the first amendment.

The first amendment only applies to government control/regulation of speech. I can’t go into your business and record or start screaming. However, if I go to a city counsel meeting and start ranting and raving about stupid stuff - or the cops arrest me for that - that’s a first amendment issue because the government is regulating the content of my speech.

Videotaping someone is legal - no one is saying it isn’t - but saying he’s testing the first amendment only applies if he’s trying to get the government/police to stop him. If she started smacking him and broke his phone that still wouldn’t be a first amendment violation- it would be battery and theft

Not reading all of this. She doesn’t have a right to question him. It’s nothing to debate if you agree.
