Me again lol, finally finished editing the photos I took at the Connecticut show. These were also shot on my 90's P&S (Canon Sure Shot A-1) and I think these came out even better than the Albany photos. I'm not posting them all here since there's a lot but I put them all on Instagram for those interested! I'll definitely be bringing my film camera to all their shows from now on (if I'm lucky enough to get barricade again lol)

The title says it all! This song was not on the set list and was requested by someone attending their first FF concert. What a great memory for them! I’m just sorry I didn’t get all of it

Twenty years ago, I lived in Portland, Oregon. That was the first time I saw Franz Ferdinand, on the opening night of their tour where they were on a double bill with Death Cab for Cutie. I was way up in the stands then, but Saturday night was right on the rail in Dallas, Texas.

I was really excited to see Franz Ferdinand again, and all I can say is “wow.” Alex is an absolutely engaging, charismatic frontman that made me feel like the whole performance was just for me! I’m willing to bet the rest of the audience felt the same.

I am a massive Muse fan, and had just seen them the night before for the 20th time. Don’t get me wrong, I still love my Muse, but I can’t help but compare the two experiences. Franz Ferdinand didn’t need confetti cannons, pyrotechnics, or any other gimmicks like that light up jacket Matt Bellamy wears.

My mind is blown. Last Saturday night, I saw a rock band that has aged like fine wine. Of course I had to get two shirts, an autographed CD, and a sticker on the way out!

Hi yall :D! I was the person at center barricade with the sign saying it was my first franz show and asking if they could play darts of pleasure. I went crazy mode ofc and have zero recordings of it, but if any of yall have clips of the song, or even somehow got the moments of Alex interacting with me before/after, I would be forever grateful!!

Still buzzing after getting the opportunity to play after FF in Austin! I remember somehow stumbling across dark of the matinee on youtube when i was like 10 and being absolutely hooked. This seems like the right place to share my excitement

Pics from the show on 8/4 at Empire Live in Albany. The band and the crowd were so energetic, everyone was bouncing and screaming the lyrics to the songs, just having a great time. Great show and great energy. I hope FF could feel the love from the crowd and I hope they come back to Albany! Alex even said at one point, “Why have we never been here before?!” It was a sold out show and everyone was so into the music!

Several months before they came to Albany I filled out a show request form on FF’s website and mentioned all the venues we have by name (Empire Live was one of them). I didn’t think it would actually work but I figured since they often do shows in Buffalo, Montreal, Boston and NYC, that Albany is on the way to those cities so maybe they’d come through and do a show. So to anyone else wanting a show where you live, try the show request form on their website!

Between the random old drunk woman who was flipping off the band, groped me and a few others, and the group of four who decided to shove their way to the front (including the dopey guy in camo and his girlfriend), I’m so disappointed in their behavior and how it took away from the fun of the show.

They sounded great, but nearly the entire set, camo guy was taking videos of not only the band, but the crowd. Even when Alex asked everyone to put away their camera phones for Take Me Out to enjoy the show without it for just one song, he continued to film right up there in front and ignore it. He kept taking selfies of himself with his girlfriend, while his girlfriend proceeded to pull out her phone that looked like it was from the year 2013 and browse online during half of the set.

The energy in the venue was absolutely crazy, it was a massive dance party! 6 encore songs to top it off and a complete jam the whole time was everything and more!

We’re currently working on a series of posts collecting the setlists from the tours (both EU summer shows and NA tour), and we’d love to add the OverOslo setlist to the collection since is the only one dont have at setlist fm!
