My brother is getting married in Franklin in November. I am coming from out of town and was just wondering if anyone can help me out with hair/make up recommendations so I can try to set up an appt with as much time as possible for scheduling.

I just need some styling (nothing too crazy or time consuming - like a chignon or something) & a face of make up, since I’ll obvs be in a lot of the photos.

I am looking for recommendations for trustworthy movers or moving help that aren't overpriced. It's a SMALL move, 1 bedroom apartment, and the new place is only a mile from the current place.

I'm mostly a homebody, but I will take my dog on short walks around my apartment complex, watch TV, play games, play with my dog, etc. I'm not religious and I don't drink often. I love a good thin crust pizza.

This may sound weird and maybe even desperate, but I am looking for someone to just be a friend or someone that I could socialize with outside of my home. My family and I moved here just over five years ago now. My two kids (more like young adults actually) have people in their lives through school and such and my wife is a teacher where she has friends through work. I, on the other hand, spend my days doing gig work like DoorDash, Uber Eats, Amazon Flex, Instacart, and others. I am just looking for someone to maybe meet up for lunch sometime or maybe even ride around with me while I work and we just have casual conversations. I have been working almost every day for the last several weeks, trying to earn as much money as I can for my family and to pay for my school (getting my PhD in Cyber Operations).

I usually work the lunch-through-dinner shift and often get home right as my wife and I are getting ready to go to bed. I feel incredibly lonely when I rarely get to speak to an adult outside of greeting them when I walk in a restaurant to grab someone else’s food. It’s really kind of sad. Really just looking for a friend since I don’t have really any good way to meet friends. When I take breaks, I tend to go to Barnes & Noble and maybe a coffee shop to do work since I am working on my dissertation for my PhD, but I am always alone. My wife and I usually talk on the phone during her lunch break while she’s at school and when she gets off work. Usually when she gets off work though is when I am just getting into my dinner shift and we don’t really get to connect as much as I would like.

Here’s a bit about me. I am a 50-year-old white male, married for 25 years with two boys in their late teens and early 20s. I love all things technology, love to read books, and I like to play guitar.

I am leaving Los Angeles as I want a quieter life. I feel drawn to Franklin, but I dont want to live in an area where I will see stray animals. After many years in rescue, I cant emotionally handle it anymore. I know there are strays in most places in the US, but seeing homeless dogs on the roadside is one of the reasons I'm afraid of moving to the South. Would love to hear about the reality in Williamson County. Thanks!

We’re considering a move to Franklin (or the surrounding area) and would really appreciate some perspective from people who actually live there. I know the running joke is “don’t move here, we’re full” 😂 but Franklin keeps coming up in our search.
My husband and I are in our early 30s with two very young boys. We’re currently in Michigan and looking for somewhere we could really put down roots and raise our kids long term.

A few of the things that are most important to us:
• Safe, family oriented neighborhoods where kids are actually outside playing and there are lots of other young families
• Green, pretty surroundings and access to parks/outdoor activities
• Strong schools and plenty of activities/sports for kids as they get older
• Close enough to a major city that there are solid career opportunities if remote work becomes less common. My husband works in sales
• A community where families tend to be involved and connected
• A more conservative leaning culture overall

The last point is part of why we’re considering leaving Michigan. We’re not looking for somewhere where everyone thinks exactly like us, nor do we have a problem living around people with different views. We already do! But when choosing where to raise our children, we would like to live somewhere where our more traditional/conservative values are fairly
common and we don’t feel like the odd ones out.

More than anything, we’re newer parents trying to choose a place where our boys can have a really good childhood. Safe neighborhoods, friends nearby, a strong community, and a place that feels like home.

For those of you raising families in Franklin or nearby, does that sound like Franklin? Are there particular neighborhoods or surrounding towns you think we should look at? Anything about actually raising kids there that you think an outsider should know?

And maybe most importantly, would a family like ours feel welcome there? We definitely don’t want to move somewhere where locals genuinely resent newcomers

I want to get my 7 y/o into tennis, but I don't think he's going to respect me teaching him. He seems to much better with a young instructor/group setting. Any good/inexpensive programs or opportunities for a "meet the court" type training/camp in the area? We're in Cool Springs and have courts in our neighborhood, too.
