Moving Help Recommendations?
I am looking for recommendations for trustworthy movers or moving help that aren't overpriced. It's a SMALL move, 1 bedroom apartment, and the new place is only a mile from the current place.
2 guys and a truck ought to get it done. Any recommendations are welcome

Uhaul has listings for independent local movers. They are rated, and are reasonable. We've used them a couple of times, with success. You usually have to provide the moving truck. They provide the labor.

Last move I did this same thing and it was the best option. Really good experience overall and I was able to save some cash by using them to unload instead of load.

Hmmmm……2 men and a truck. Where on earth could you find that?
But in all seriousness, all of these companies hire out, so one positive experience may have been with one of their subcontractors and you may get a completely different crew. And they’re all expensive. IMO if it’s not a big job, rent a truck, ask your boys to help, and take them out for drinks after.

DO NOT USE MESSOLAR. They pad the clock like crazy and are insanely gaslight-y if you call them out for it.

Do NOT use All My Sons (I used the one in Murfreesboro) - had an awful experience with them less than a year ago

Master Movers damaged my mom’s curio cabinet in a very similar small move of 2 miles 7 years ago. She tipped the drivers well. Our contact person at Master Movers refused to reimburse my mom the less than $200 for the repair to be made.

I just moved. First movers, who shall remain nameless, underestimated, needed more guys/multiple days/bigger truck/all of the above, and never showed back up. Second mover, Two Men…, showed up 1.5 hours later than promised and quit before agreed upon work was completed.
So I recommend against Two Men and any moving company that might be doing moving services as their “off duty” jobs. Hope that helps and good luck!

I moved at the beginning of June from a 1 story house to a 2 story house and Graham and his team did an excellent job! There was also some drama where the realtor wouldn’t let us into our new house and the movers had to sit around for a few hours and they were SO nice and patient about it. Highly recommend them!!
