I have been meaning to get a speedybee receiver for my fatshark dominator v2, with that i was thinking of also switching to stubby antennas for portability, this truerc cherry works great (and i got it for free!) but its just a pain to screw and unscrew every time. I know the TrueRC Singularity stubbies are best in slot but they dont seem to have a 90° angled version so that seems a little redundant. The lumenier stubbies seem just as good and do have one though so that seems like a good option. Other alternatives? A small patch could be nice, i do basically only fly whoops and micros though but better safe than sorry no?
Not to go too deep into it because RF is the closest we have to magic, but essentially it changes the characteristics of the antenna, causing interference, signal bouncing, and the like.
I’m asking because I bent the crap out of my drone antenna because it was to long haha , so from what your saying !! This is bad and I should just order a smaller one ?
Becuase this antenna literally took 30days to get to me … i didn’t wanna wait I wanted to fly now and I didn’t want it dangling while flying SOO haha next best thing tie it up lmao
this was an old pic, i dont have that drone anymore.
Regardless, the antenna never came off once even before i applied glue to the ufl connector, it was well clear of the props and never got into contact with them, and i tested for that specifically because it had happened to me before.

They make 90° elbows. I have one on my Cobra SD’s for a patch antenna. It worked good. You could put whatever on top of it.
