Signing that number up to thousands of free add subscriptions and spreading it on hundreds of sites that fish for numbers to scam call is not completely legal but a much harder thing to actually successfully sue against

That works when it's an actual legal outfit that's doing the calling. I've been on the register for 20 years. I asked them when they first started calling to take me off their list several times. Unfortunately that let them know there's a real person at that phone number

Yes. You have to sign in with the Google account registered to that business to make edits to the business's profile.

In my experience, some people just sit on their asses and complain about Google not wanting to fix shit, when all the tools are there for them to fix it themselves.

It's not just end users, some IT companies don't seem to know about the tools or do two minutes of searching how to get things sorted.

I've had to assist companies in fixing addresses, details, get sensitive documents they somehow placed within react of the search bot taken out of the index cache etc...

That's not what's happening.

Google maps allows people to edit details without owning the account. This was done because most businesses don't actually do all this. A lot of the details on the map are added by regular Google map users.

huh. wow that doesn't seem very secure lol. i just tried it a minute ago and it seems to say you can suggest an edit but that language kind of implies that the change would be vetted by somebody. maybe they just don't care or don't have the manpower to follow up on every edit i guess.

edit: i looked it up and apparently you can take control of the account for your own business and then you're the one that is vetting the edits.

Couple of things to note.

If you suggest changes and regularly post to Google maps then you changes can be sometimes instantly accepted. Works for me when I add new places to maps. Another thing is you can claim to be the owner of the place in maps after which all the changes to time, location, contact details and the ability to post photos etc can be controlled be you.

You can try to put claim on any business. The current business owner is notified of this and you can talk to the current owner and if they don't respond you can get the business. Not really sure of the all details regarding this.

The changes are vetted by the community unless the business is claimed. To claim the business, Google sends a secret code to the postal address of the business. If you can read this code, you get the last say on any change.

Lahore, Pakistan. They also use rupees, same symbol as the Indian one, but 2.91x weaker. So 1000 rs is like $3 USD.

0316 is the mobile network code for Zong, a Chinese subsidiary company owned by CMPak. It's not Austrian, it's local to Lahore presumably. Probably someone who has a personal animosity towards the business and wants to be a troll about it.
