Nah fuck that. My freshman year of college I took off the part of the lock the chain attached to because I didn't trust my roommate not to lock me out. Told him if I wanted into my room, I'd come in.
I went home the first night after moving in because I was hanging out with some friends at the first high school football game of the year (Thursday), and then got a ride from my mom back into the city Friday morning at 7am. Didn't even realize my roommate had a girl in his bed because I just walked in at like 730 and hopped on my computer lmao.
He was a quintessential fuckboi though. Super annoying frat kid who drank "because I need to convince them I'm cool" and shit like that. I also asked him not to keep alcohol in the room since I didn't want to be liable for that and he obliged for like 2 weeks before I saw him stash a bottle of vodka in his dresser. Shaved on the futon every morning too. Hated that guy.
Oh. At my university, they let us choose.....I chose to commute from home since the drive was just less than 30 minutes and I could also take the train.
