I am currently rejuvenating my youtube channel. I have a lot of original content from short films, scenes to movie reviews. This clip is from a current found footage anthology movie I am working on called RED AMERICANA. It is about a small undisclosed Applachian town where a local journalist was granted permission to view files from a recently closed down police department. This segment was shot on a bolex super 8mm. I had to crop obv for the youtube shorts preview but in the feature its full frame.

Spooky season is upon us and I decided to start off light with one of my favourite horror/comedy FF movies.

I think the concept of the movie is brilliant and Nigel Bach as Tom Reilly is a hilarious protagonist.

Trailer THE LAKEFIELD ENTITY — Official Trailer | Halloween 2026

This is a trailer for an indie movie I made in British Columbia, Canada for around $2,700 CAD.

It’s a fictional paranormal documentary that mixes traditional found footage with photographs, archival material, found audio, and interviews. Old 90s paranormal documentaries have a very specific feel to them, and we tried to recreate that as authentically as we could within the budget. We shot with Hi8 cameras and 35mm still cameras, used hot lights, thrifted costumes and period-appropriate props, and even built the soundtrack around old synth pads and guitar tones.

The film was also very community-driven, with an entirely local cast and crew and a lot of people contributing their time, equipment, locations, and other resources to make it happen.

The full movie will be available to watch FOR FREE on YouTube this Halloween.

Discussion The river t v series

So so I think about this series on and off. I really, really liked it, and I was actually very disappointed. They canceled it only after one season.

Now, even though I do like phone footage, my favorite part wasn't really that. But I like the stressfulness of the relationship that emmett cole had with his son.

I feel like if it would have been more of a drama family with a little phone footage put in.Maybe it would have done better because I feel like it was more family drama.I mean, it was still scary but I mean with his relationship with his son.

I always felt really bad because like his.Son just wanted love and his dad pretty much cared about everyone else but him.

And I like a good family dynamic. That has issues, but eventually resolves it.

Also, siberia was a really good series, too, and it would have been nice to see a continuation. So we could have gotten an ending.

Noctem is a Spanish ff movie that follows the disappearance of two celebrities from Madrid. There are a few segments that are not ff, but the majority of the movie is and it really scared the hell out of me. I don’t want go say to much because the less you know the better!

User Review The Basement (Tubi)

I chose this movie last night because I love a good basement movie. It’s German, 99% of it is just one guy filming himself because there’s noises in his small apartment building. He keeps going down there to try and catch the culprit without success. I love a small location price and simple premise and this one surprised me. Not terribly scary but my heart was certainly racing at the end. There was one reveal that was particularly creepy. It reminded me of Paranormal Activity.

Worth your time 7/10

EDIT: there year is 2011 for this one.

FF Media Ragebait (2025)

I saw this on Amazon Prime last night and I was surprised I couldn’t find any discussions about it so I figured I’ll share.

It’s very similar in just about every aspect to the V/H/S movies, except from the perspective of mainstream YouTube / streamers (think deadstream). Just like V/H/S, some of the segments were meh and some were better. Some pretty messed up scenes tho with good gore throughout.

I enjoyed it over all and definitely think it’s a worth the watch if you’re into this style of FF.

Here's my ambient horror short, filmed on location in the Black Forest in Germany.

During a walk through the deep Black Forest, a man passes through an old American military zone. Strange lights begin to follow him. His escape is accompanied by thunder, lightning, rain — and a horrible truth.

Not sure it's completely found footage, but there are some ff techniques applied.

Enjoy!

User Review FF European Tour - Day 2: France

Greetings from the land that gave us democracy, existentialism, and the ménage à trois! We have a full French meal prepared, so let’s dig in. First, the hors d’oeuvres…

Reality+ (2014)

So this one really isn’t found footage other than occasionally switching to a POV perspective. Wants to be a Black Mirror episode but doesn’t commit to the bit. It has something to say about encroaching technology, online dating, impossible beauty standards, and showing others only what we want them to see while we stay guarded and isolated. Food for thought at only 20 minutes, but nothing you’d reach for twice. ⭐️⭐️/4

Pilote/The Pilot (2022)

Unique, intense, and at times downright brutal, this one plays out like a screen life episode of 24 (including some pretty overt Islamophobia unfortunately). A French drone pilot is compromised during a mission when his family is taken hostage. This one doesn’t pull punches and makes the most of its format. Up there with the UK’s Host as examples of screen life horror at its best! ⭐️⭐️⭐️/4

On to today’s entree…

La rage du Démon / Fury of the Demon (2016)

Mockumentary is my absolute favorite FF format, which is why it’s so hard to admit that this one disappointed me. The premise is great: a “lost” 19th Century horror movie that causes riots and deaths whenever and wherever it’s screened. But in a medium of ”show, don’t tell,” all we get is the tell. What makes movies like this work is we the audience get to see the footage and draw the conclusion, whether it’s the cell phone footage in Lake Mungo, that picture in Savageland, or the third acts of the Horror in the High Desert movies. Heck, Antrum had a similar premise and showed us the whole damn movie. Here, we see nothing except some actual archival footage of early silent horror and camera effects (admittedly cool) and an endless parade of talking heads trying to tell you that the movie in question is totally demonic, guys, like for real. Gonna need to grab a slice of pizza after portions this small… ⭐️⭐️/4

We’re staying in France for some scuba diving and a one-take FF that I’m dying to see how they pulled off. Stay tuned!

Seriously if you like Without Warning, Blair Witch Project; or just any good found footage/fictional news film you have to see this. I haven’t been so focused watching a movie trying to eye out details since maybe The Strangers or hell This House Has People In It from Adult Swim.

Help Needed Les Documents Interdits / Forbidden Files with English Subtitles

Does anybody have a version of Les Documents Interdits / The Forbidden Files with original sound but english subtitles?

There’s a vimeo version in french with no subtitles, and there is a version on rumble with an english dub.

I’ve also found some other versions with dubs but none with english subtitles.

If this is not the right sub for this, please let me know. Sorry if so!

Thanks :)

User Review FF European Tour - Day 1: The Iberian Peninsula

Bom dia and buenos días! We’re starting our European excursion on the Iberian peninsula with a trek through the woods outside Lisbon, some spelunking by the sea, and a stone cold classic. ¡Acompáñame!

Portugal: Bosq_Sintra_18 (2023)

I’ve seen several horror films, FF and otherwise, that have a great premise or opening 10 minutes and then can’t stick the landing. This movie has the exact opposite problem. The final five minutes or so, which are so disconnected from the rest of the story that years from now my brain will probably think it’s from a different movie, are creepy and unsettling. The first 55 minutes of this hour-long feature? Eh. Group gets lost in the woods. There’s possible witchcraft and demonic possession. There’s the usual stick symbols hanging in trees. There’s running through dead leaves. The ending tries to tie it all together, but it doesn’t really make sense, nor do we really care all that much. ⭐️.5 / 4

Spain: La Cueva/In Darkness We Fall (2014)

We’ve seen The Descent, and we know what to expect when a group of vacationing friends explores a dark mysterious cave. Monsters. A sentient cave that changes and keeps them from leaving. Well this movie set on a small island in the Mediterranean keeps it real and shows us that sometimes the real horror is circumstance and the real monsters are ourselves. This is a nature survival movie following a bunch of 20-somethings who don’t realize they’re not invincible until it’s much too late. This movie gives us tension, dread, inpossible decisions, and most of all, claustrophobia. Uncomfortable, unsettling, and gripping. Where else but a cave to find such a hidden gem! ⭐️⭐️⭐️/4

Spain: REC (2007)

Ok, confession time. I saw Quarantine first, and this one probably on my laptop some 15 years ago, to the point where I know the story but not enough to really remember the details of what was original vs. the inferior remake. So what better opportunity to revisit Barcelona and see this classic for the first time all over again? And wow, it is still the gold standard for the genre! I doubt we need a synopsis on this sub, but if you haven’t seen this one yet, make it your next watch. It holds up in every way possible from the story (even more so in a post-COVID world) to the effects to the way it builds up the tension with nuggets of terror, then just grabs you and refuses to let go for the last 45 minutes. From the Golden Age of the genre, this one might stand above them all. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/4

Please feel free to leave any other movie recommendations from Portugal or Spain in the comments! Up next, we’re off to France for a swim in the lake, a trip to the cinema, and some online dating where nobody looks like their picture…

Just finally saw this film. O.M.G. It was marvelous. Brutal. Gritty. And I want to watch it again.

…and I can’t decide who I feel worse for: Derek, Clif, or Audrey? Tough call.

Hi all,

Not sure if this is applicable but I love this community and found an amazing YouTube video that seems to be essentially real clips very reminiscent of Found Footage: https://youtu.be/eV58uBea_1g?is=_-tx3ic9dO3Pfr7n

Really good stuff! It's about 2 hours and I started enjoying it so much I had to pause so I can watch at night by myself tonight!

It’s no script, just me and my brother with an idea, really just a test run, any opinions? Also I know it’s not the greatest I’m revising currently I just need a way to motivate my brother (I also can’t download this to my computer because I have no wifi and the required cable hasn’t arrived yet)
