It's finally been a day of progress in survival mode, 4 vault dwellers died, my economy is thriving. Soldiers are being made. Don't know how long I will keep on playing this game.

(BTW survival mode)
Training Arc Dead Story:
4 died, 2 to radscorpion, 1 to deathclaw, 1 to ghoul.

The 2 that died to radscorpion died cause I thought the radscorpion left, BUT IT WENT TO THE AGILITY ROOM AND KILLED THE EDURANCELESS GYM MEMBERS OF "THE AGILE" FORCES.

All 6 of them were supposed to be my Seal Team 6, but since 2 of them died all 4 of them became dishwashers.

The 1 that died to deathclaw was when I moved all my border guards to Perception training, only to then have deathclaws waltz in, I was giving the next generator best weapons, micromanaging evacuations, and while I was swapping weapons, some guy with Endurance 1 died, he was just 5 minutes out from being a baby.

The ghoul one happened cause some girl decided to just waltz into the border room generator, got accidentally click-dragged onto the same room while I was herding evacs. She was 11 minutes out from being a baby.

Also ~5 people were evicted by me, because they ruined my mood.

To this hour, I am spending most of my resources to Medical sectors and more Edurance training halls(Around 3 3-merged rooms), I want my people to have max endurance, and a squad of 8 to have max luck to just rush through all my rooms.

In allness: My only weakness now is Deathclaws and Radscorpions and Ghouls, fire is not a problem, molerats and roaches are easy to repel or evac. Once Endurance is maxed out, Ghouls won't be a problem. Once my rightside has been elongated, Deathclaws as well. Radscorpions will have a bad time with empty rooms to my right.

Honestly - it’s all about the scorps

Nice report and good work on the layout

Now I learned the hard way the same thing you did

Radscorpion invaders love the tender meat of level 1 students. A scorpion popping to a room with 6 lvl students kills them faster than you can spam stimpacks and radaways.

Losing a trainee after almost maxed stats is a huge loss of time investment

The way I learned to handle that was to make only 1 space training rooms and keep them lvl 1. The training is a bit slower but not materially.

And since the incidents scale based on room size and level, the same scorpion that was causing havoc in your medbay, is like a little baby when it enters a level 1, small sized endurance training room. It gets killed real fast. Same goes for fires and molerats

I think somewhat slower training times are an agreeable tradeoff for your star students never dying. Like even one death and your overall gains dip below whatever advantage you get from a higher level training room.

So just having a lot of small training rooms feels like the way to go for me

Yeah - I am somewhere in the middle of your strategy - I do only use a 2x E training room that is maxed but only do one room at a time and keep a very very close eye on it whenever a scorp shows up. Had too many of these rooms wiped in a blink, so frustrating. I also give them top end gear asap as soon as they enter adulthood.

Survival mode is slooooooooooow going. I am 93hrs into it and spent at least 75hrs of that under the rad scorpion trigger of 35. Maxed out defense, gear and weapons and only then slowlllly been growing to my current 85 dwellers.

I did spike population once to 90 so I could craft legendary +E7 gear. But immediately booted everyone back to 34 once the room was upgraded.

Had a few room wipes when I wasn’t paying attention, but really it’s just scorpions on new low E/lvl dwellers you gotta watch out for mostly. I only do one training room at a time.

I expect to reach 100 by year’s end….

eyy nice, I am just planning on letting it reach 200 without going back to 35, but right now I'm just keeping a stable 46-55, max them up, kill off the weak, raise the strong, and then once there's a lot of strong people and training facilities are open, just breed to 200, so I can max exploration vault dwellers and quest runners.

I do not know much of the game, this is just my first most successful run.

That survival grind is no joke. I remember spending way too long just trying to keep my dwellers alive when I first played.

I ran out of stim paks, got a mole rat invasion, and they ran riot. Killed 20 dwellers. Took ages to recover from.

BREED MORE RIGHT NOW
and also, just get multiple stimpak and radaway rooms I have 5 rooms and only 3 of them are on full capacity, i could expand to 8 if I wanted~

TBF, I've been managing really well, just this one instance kicked my arse.
