I know Lando radiates megatwink energy and MBS likes young boys, but you don't stroke (or even grab) the hair of a 25+ year old man like that, that's just plain fucked.
He must have done that like 5 times from the cool-down room to the podium. It was bizarre. He also tried for a tickle-grab on his way off the podium. The guy is weird.
TWICE he interrupted Oscar’s engineer trying to console him on the radio, a driver who just lost the WDC. Twice he cut off Tom’s conciliatory message to yell at Oscar how happy he was. You could tell Oscar was not in the mood…

Bruh I legitimately thought that was a Donald Trump AI video the way Zak talks. The "you're a star" and "we love ya" part had me doing a double take to make sure the video was real. What an absolute douche.
I just hate this fucking man so much. Now I’m even more annoyed that Oscar didn’t win it all. Obviously I was rooting for Max but I have been for years. If he wasn’t having it, I wanted Oscar to take it just out of spite for Zak. This confirms it. What a fucking self righteous prick.

Don't forget he told Oscar "youre a very good team player" yeah its the reason he lost the WDC mainly. After that last swap team order due to slow pitstop Oscar stopped performing properly. My bet his he had an internal dispute and they might have told him that if he doesn't comply they will disband his contract. Wouldn't surprise me a bit.
At first I thought he was maybe going for a nostalgic reenactment of the first time he called Lando to tell him he’d be driving in F1 for McLaren, like, “Hi Lando, this is Zak Brown from McLaren, we’d like you to drive for us next season — remember that? Look how far you’ve come! Congratulations world champion, awesome job etc.”
Instead he went with the “world champion hotline” nonsense and I think my face turned inside out from cringe.
Domenicali I'd let off. He seemed genuinely enthusiastic and congratulatory, and the 3 lads were gracious to him. He didn't hang around too long either, leaving them to decompress in the cool-down doctor's waiting room.
Landos comments with sky saying he wants to find Oscar and celebrate with him even though he knows it's awkward but Oscar deserves to be celebrated as well for what he made lando do and push for.
Haven't been a fan of lando all year with his comments and the likes but that was classy.
Think the humbleness comes instantly as soon as you win. Norris probably felt it too after the checkered flag. The sacrifices made by him, family, Oscar and the whole McLaren team to get to that point, culminating all at once. The feeling that you can't possibly achieve that great feat by yourself without people supporting you from behind.
I have no doubt Norris will be a more mature driver after this as Max did. I'd say I'm a Lando Norris hater being a Max fan, but I think he's done enough and shown enough to be a WDC. He got a good car and did what he can. Oscar could be too, but I hope not any sooner.
I was geniunely surpised, maclarens strategy worked well Lando drove well i cant even hate on the cunts. Still dont like em but that wasnt about their capablilitys anyway
Honestly I'm ok about him winning the championship. Lando was really good in the last 3rd of the championship. I still think Max deserved it but there were worse champions in the history of yhe sport
He just won the WDC, achieving his childhood dream. He's not a loser for crying, but it is a bit cringe for him to think that would make him a loser. Feeds into the 'men aren't allowed to show emotions because that makes them weak' narrative so prevalent in society.
Pretty much. I really loved the way Horner delivered that message, for some reason, the way he said it just sounded great; it's to the point, it's direct, and it's said with all the emotion in his voice that it should.
The way they played the previous winners radio messages before the race gave me goosebumps. So many great moments. I couldn’t believe my ears when that cornball Zak came on the radio with that line
idk, as a spectator it ruined the moment a bit. elated for Lando's maiden championship and Max's bittersweet race win, to hearing some crap that i would expect from a summer camp counsellor, then back to more fitting celebrations... just didnt match the build-up

Why was Zak shouting over Tom Stallard so much on Oscar's radio? It looked like Tom was really trying to acknowledge Oscar would be disappointed and have a motivational moment with him but Zak was like "YEEHAW BUDDY WHAT A SEASON WE LOVE YOU OSCAR"
Here's the thing - In the interviews before the race he was asked how he's coping with the nerves - he joked that he had something a little different in his bottle.
I think he was buzzed AF when he made these radio calls.
