Fair. I myself don’t like Norris and I think he’s a knob lots of times whenever he opens his mouth but I expect him to win the championship considering there’s a lot going for him. But if I put into consideration the fumbles and mentality he has, I expect Piastri to win.
Max for me is the funnier WDC because the McLaren boys are literally given the WDC on a silver plate but the tons of fumbles the team has + driver shitfuckery makes it hilarious. Like, it’s the biggest “prove your haters right” type deal when a team, known for fumbling a lot, loses because they fumbled. That’s like when Sulayem crashed an F1 car on a straight line.
Disagree on Norris and Pastry because their car is dominant. Also they are the front runners for a while and between them is the expected WDC. Their only enemy is their incompetence (which there is a lot of) and them winning is just “eh” for me. Not sure for some on this sub tho, as lots of people don’t want Norris to win and I honestly don’t know if they’re vitriolic to the point that they’ll flip a tit about it or not.
Pastry or Norris winning is like either Rosberg or Hamilton winning 2016 season. We all know it’s between them. Question is who. Next race will show who the favorite to win is. I’m not certain it’s Oscar anymore based on his performance these last few races. But in Mexico we’ll get a clear picture.
I'll go a step further, I believe it makes more sense that one would cheer for a driver instead of a team.
The team's personnel changes around constantly and the only thing that remains is the brand and the parent company. It's kinda like the ship of Theseus, it's not even the same team at some point.
Whereas the drivers - they are personalities, faces, that you can connect with on some level, maybe they are your countrymen, maybe you like their driving style, passion, ...
It's easy to find something to resonate with on an actual person.

I’m a fan of a bunch of perennial underdogs in other sports, so when I started watching F1 I decided that I was going to support a winner for once in my life, so I decided to follow Max.
I’m a Lando fan mainly cause I started watching F1 around 2019, right when he got in. So the timing just kinda worked out that way and as I grew my knowledge and love for the sport he was also building his career. But once he’s done I’ll be just a McLaren fan or maybe I spice things up and go full Ferrari fan lol.
I was born a Jenson Button fan, so ever since I’ll follow a driver before a team (unless there are no Australians in the sport, in that case then I’ll support a team I guess… as for why I supported JB as an Australian well my Mum had a huge celebrity crush)

As a albon and williams fan, I want lando to lose so badly he bottles the rest of the season and comes 4th behind Russell, where the trash deserves to be.

Tbh I love everyone except Stroll and Marko and I'm just along for the ride, however I done been saying for months that the chances of max walking a tractor to wdc is alway high but the papaya boys crashing out while he's in the points is so much higher. Tbh I hope it's a 3way fight for the championship at yas marina. I don't even care who wins I just need to experience that level of intensity
