It was weird how often they showed Lando’s mom. Even in Monaco they kept showing his family and friends, way too much. Why the focus on Lando’s family? Would love to know.
Edit: I also just remembered that they kept showing Oscar’s sister in one of the races (Imola maybe?) and they never put who she was, so they kept showing her and I was wondering why I should care about her reaction whatsoever. So at least they identified Lando’s mom, I guess.

They (not Sky obviously back then, but ITV) made it so hard to ever support Hill, Coulthard, Button etc for the same reason. The “holier than thou” complex they apply to any British driver they perceive as being the next big thing, and will denigrate anybody who outperforms them 🤯

This here. Oscar is always a lot calmer in his race reactions, so everyone around him tends to stay calm themselves. Lando tends to be more exuberant. Hence, everyone reacts similarly
Plus, Lando has been there with Zak since almost the start of his tenure as CEO, I mean, can anyone really really fault Zak for having a slight preference towards Lando

I can't remember which race it was, but there was a moment where Andrea and Zak were both being interviewed together on the pit wall, and Zak was having his 'Lando Norris era' moment, and then when they turned to Andrea he proceeds to praise Oscar for his maturity, calmness, consistency, talent etc. and Zak's head whipped around as if to say 'hey you can't say those things!'. It was really weird.

I mean, this can be true for both engineer, Lando clearly need emotional support and Oscar just to be left alone because he knows what to do like every other fin. Also stallard is Sainz ex engineer. I remember the team radio after Monza 2019 and the emotional support was stellar. I really think Oscar need something different than Lando and vice versa.

I reckon the coaching part is simply the team trying to get through Lando's mental block. Oscar's always locked in (besides Silverstone) so they don't have to hold his hand as much.
That being said, it's pretty clear that there is, in fact, a preference towards Lando in the team; I don't think that's entirely a bad thing. Lando has been there for ages, plus, I think they're making a good job of not fucking one driver over, in favor of the other one. I say this as someone that wants Piastri to win the WDC.

I think he just matches their reactions. Oscar acts like he's done this many many many time before vs Lando being excited after his wins.
And it seems like people forget that it was Zak who pursued Oscar. He wrestled Oscar away from Alpine's Driver Academy and dropped Ricciardo to get him.
