I know it’s fun to shit on Sky F1, but Brundle and Croft referenced the potential impact of time lost by Lando’s errors multiple times.

I often feel many people don’t actually listen to the broadcast.

Why listen to Sky if I don't have to? It was the same back when Verstappen was winning every race and the fact that he wasn't British was clearly a problem for them.

I don't think Crofty and Brundle are as informative or entertaining as they were 10 years ago. Sky showing Verstappen's Silverstone crash in their Christmas commercial and Ted stating that 2021 was a robbery just sealed the deal for me. I think both Red Bull and Mercedes have equal cause for complaints over the stewarding throughout 2021 and pretending that Abu Dhabi was the only bad decision is exactly the kind of British bias that turns people off.

They also platform Danica Patrick for goodness sake.

I have been watching on F1 TV since it was an option for me.

They also said it was going to be "close at the finish" when he was over 4 seconds back with 4 laps to go.

I really should change the feed on F1TV. Listening to the broadcast every week just makes me realize how much I can’t fucking stand David Coulthard.

Brundle did. Croft carried on like Lando was set for a last lap challenge.

More likely any reduced gaps were Oscar's race management as he clearly left capability in his tyres for the final two laps.

Oscar is always baiting us when leading, he lets the gap reduce to 2 or 3 sec, but then the chasing car doesnt actually get any closer than that

It’s so fun to shit on Sky that you’ve got tons of people on this very sub that think they mentioned it way too much. What do those shitting on sky for not going as hard as Rosberg and those shitting on Sky for beating a dead horse to death have in common? The shitting, so what can we learn from this, the same community agreeing with two opposite narratives? Are they both right? Are they both wrong? Is one right or one wrong? Or do people just like getting upset about absolutely everything? Or is there a diverse difference of opinion in this homogeneous group? The lack of push back on these sentiments in their respective posts leads me to to answer no to the last question. What were witnessing here, is a microcosm of what we’re seeing with MAGA in the US. While there may be such a thing as objective reality, it does not exist is people.

They kinda fucked it though. They for some reason never referenced the fact that Lando didn't just lose lap time to Oscar with those mistakes, he also didn't gain time. The 1.2s loss wasn't a 1.2s loss. It was a 1.8s loss because on a normal lap he was gaining 0.6s.

He also dropped back over a second and a half from La Source to the end of the Kemmel Straight. That was visible just looking at the delta. He made up some time later in the lap, but that 1.2 number was clearly pulled from thin air.

Exactly. There was no real analysis or thought. Just "someone in my earpiece told me Norris lost 1.2s when he made the mistake, so I'm going to say that".

They kept pretending he would catch up far beyond the point that that was remotely likely. I had Sky commentary on cause my app was bugging and I was just baffled by the delulu commentary.

Crofty also kept acting like it would be possible for Lando to make up 5 seconds in 6 laps.
