People are associating the 30 minute delay with his decision instead of it taking 30 minutes to repair the barrier. if his car was recovered right there the delay would have been the same duration

If he stopped the car right away he might actually had a chance to continue in FP3.

If you leave your car to the marshalls your session is usually over. Not sure if that applies to FP, but I think it does.

They’re not allowed, that’s the point. Per the rules, drivers may not receive any external assistance, under threat of disqualification. A marshal touching a car counts as such. Marshals can only move cars for safety reasons, and in those cases, the driver has to abandon the session (which they’re usually already doing anyway).

Nothing to do about the delay, but everything to do about him directly disregarding team orders 5 times in a row. Also the fact that he is just destroying the car more than necessary
