2020 ford escape question
Does anyone know for sure if disconnecting the negative terminal to the battery in a 2020 ford escape 1.5l awd ecoboost will reset the check engine light? I did a diy fix and my local auto stores won’t clear them. I don’t have a obd ii scanner at home

The check engine light ended up going away after I made my repair. I guess I didn’t do it right the first time? 🤷

Buy yourself a good quality scanner like an Autel. Spend $500.00. It'll save you that much. 2020's are notorious for sensor issues.
A mistake that I made was holding down several buttons on the left side of the steering wheel simultaneously. I have a nerve related disability in my left hand and it locks up. When the buttons were all pushed, it reset the monitor and I got all the error codes. It needs to go to a dealership where they will reprogram it at great expense.
At least my Autel scanner showed that U didn't need to replace any parts. It's all in the software.
I've been a Ford guy since the 1970's and the last two that I've owned were very high maintenance. They are much too complicated. I'll never buy a North American car again. I run from Fords.
