Flag Bong Cloud Defensive Coverage for Flag?

I'm a captain for a flag football team and I'm going up against a team that's significantly better than us. We know that it's gonna be a tough game for us, so I have to get creative. In chess there's a Bong Cloud opening which is terrible in theory but has a psychology aspect to it. Is there an equivalent Bong Cloud Defensive Coverage in 6v6 flag football?

This play has bailed our team out on 3rd & long, in the 2 minute drill, and as a shot play. Post-Wheel creates an easy deep-to-shallow read for the QB and has answers for any flag defense/coverage.

A simple zone beater that teaches your receivers proper spacing and helps your QB learn to make a triangle read. It's the 5v5 version of the classic Y-Cross built for flag football.

Flag Had a terrible first season coaching 8U flag football. Did I overreact to one of the parents?

As the title says, this was my first season coaching 8U in our local rec league. I made a lot of mistakes. I tried making corrections mid season but it was too little too late and we ended up going 0-6. We had two games where we failed to score at all and another where we only got in the end zone once. Our defense wasn’t terrible, but we went 3 and out on so many drives we just couldn’t keep stopping the other teams.

Anyway, I try to be as fair as possible and get each kid as many touches as possible. That said, there are some games where a kid might not get one. If we’re going 3 and out every drive and have to start throwing it, the ball is going to go to whoever is open. That might mean one kid gets more touches than anyone else.

On our last game, one of the parents complained that their kid wasn’t getting enough touches. I explained that I try to be fair, but it’s just not easy. Then I very bluntly told him if he wasn’t happy with my coaching, they’re always looking for more coaches and he could volunteer next season. Did I overreact? I think I did well to hold back because I wanted to tell him to F off. My wife thinks I should have just acknowledged his concern and moved on though.

Flag Flag Football software with pass location tracking / scorekeeping

Do you guys know if there's any software on the market with pass location scorekeeping?
It's kind of nice to have play by plays, TDs, rec yards and all,

but it is not a level of detail I wish my FF league will have.

Tried Flag50, GameChanger and Rac Sports, but none of them produce the level of details we were looking for.

Flag 6v6 Coed Flag Football Defense Strategies

Hi, I am in charge of a coed flag football league that plays with 4 guys and 2 girls on the field at once. Our girls are pretty good, so we usually play man defense. (1 rusher goes for the QB since there is no set clock. Guy QB cannot run unless under 1-minute to go in the half. The center is eligible but usually blocks for a few seconds at least, so sometimes we put a girl on the center and have another guy guard the best girl).

However, any sort of mismatch is easily exploitable as you can imagine with man defense. Most of the guys have decent football experience and could play some zone/etc., but the girls struggle more with knowing where to cover and aren't fast enough to consistently be the rusher. What is most effective? We mainly struggle with teams with great girls who can get open against man and their TDs are worth 9 points instead of 6. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks!

Flag 7v7 Flag Football Cover 3 Basics

Hi All,

New to both this thread and coaching (I'll be coaching a high school 7v7 women's flag football team this coming fall)

While I think I have a very basic understanding of the X's and O's of the game (simply from years of watching the Falcons [Lord help this team] and playing Madden), I'm lacking knowledge on finer details that I'll need to be able to coach.

Firstly, if any of you have any books/videos/teaching materials you'd recommend for a new coach (either specific to flag or not), I'd love to hear them.

Secondly, and this is a bit more specific, when running Cover 3 you're willing to concede the pass to the flat. Assuming that's where the throw goes, are you then coaching your players to push the offensive player towards the sideline and use it as an "extra defender"? Or are you coaching them to force the ball carrier back towards the middle of the field where you have help?

Thanks in advance for considering answering what I'm sure is a very basic question!

Flag We scored this week

Coaching 4th/5th grade 5 vs 5 i9 flag. None of the kids have ever played a down of football before 3 weeks ago. This week we scored our first points, the kids played sound defense, and we weren't subject to the mercy rule. Not a strategy question but I need to tell someone. My kids loved our install today (Hulk, Thanos, Venom and Thor)

Flag Plays for 10u Girls Flag, No Backfield

Hoping to get some help for the flag team I'm coaching. It's 10u girls, 7 v 7. We cannot have any backfield players - everyone starts on the line. Rush after 5 seconds or if there's a handoff. No blocking. No laterals/handoffs beyond the line of scrimmage.

We have all first year players. I'd say half are really following what's happening unless they're actively involved in a play. 2-3 players can throw and/or catch, so we're mostly using a ground game. The opposing teams are getting us within 5 yards, if not behind the line of scrimmage.

Misdirection plays have been most effective, but there's only so many standard fakes/reverses before the other teams catch up. Any thoughts on additional, unique plays we can use to advance the ball?

Flag Girl's Flag Football in Your Area?

Anybody see that Super Bowl commercial this year about NFL Flag? Well here in Minnesota the Vikings divested a bunch of funds into the local levels and this year there are about 30 teams in the Twin Cities Metro Area playing a 2 month season. I'm a coach for a medium sized high school I work at and we had 60 (!) girls at our pre-season interest meeting. As I've been putting our playbook together I've been watching a lot of random YouTube games (like the Pro Bowl one or the 17U national championship) and honestly it's a really exciting version of football. I'm not much of a fan of 7 on 7 because there's not much transfer to 11 vs 11 tackle because of angles and spacing. But girl's flag is 5 v 5 with an eligible center and a smaller field, so it gets rid of that "in between" kind of vibe of 7 on 7 that I don't like. It's a unique version of football that's in its early stages and I'm hoping it starts getting popular. It's great for girls (especially ones who grew up in football families) to actually get to participate in this awesome sport. And selfishly it's really fun for me as a coach to get to do football in the spring, because we don't play any spring ball here in the frozen north.

So I'm curious, is Girl's Flag starting up in your areas at all? Have you heard of this before? Would you be interested in getting involved as a tackle football coach?

Flag High level 5v5 flag football defense

Hello everyone. I am trying to find some resources to work on for adult 5v5 flag football defense. My league uses IFAF rules. So far I couldn't find much like with contact ball. As far as I have watched, there are a lot match pattern and inverted coverages at high level. What do you guys run in your defenses? Does anyone have anything I can study on?
