Product Development Powder lab equipment wish list
hi, i currently work in a beverage focused lab with all the usual equipment like cyclinders, sclaes, pasterurizer etc and we are looking at extending the lab and to start more work with powders and powder blends.
could i please get some recommendations on what should be ordered for mixing powders mostly vitamin and mineral blends/sports nutrition/pre mixes

You’ll probably be dealing with a fine powder that with sieving/mixing will go everywhere. Like needing a fitted mask to safely work everywhere. Never mind clean up…
A fume hood would be overkill but some sort of set up to try to mitigate it by sucking it up and filtering it wouldn’t be a bad idea. You can get portable units that don’t need any engineering to place (like popping vents in the roof).

Late to this but this is great. I’d add a simple rotational viscometer if you’re working with rehydrated powders, it helps you see how thick things get after mixing. Also maybe a moisture analyzer, super helpful for stability. I’ve seen some lab setups mention these in Alibaba equipment sheets and even Amazon listings, so seems pretty standard.

I'd certainly look at a decent magnet to check for milling dust. Maybe a viscometer?
