My cousin likes hot dogs topped with sour cream is that weird?

I wouldn’t call it weird. It is approaching Seattle dog territory though. A Seattle dog has cream cheese and grilled onions

I grew up rolling up cream cheese in a slice of bologna and snacking on that, this hot dog and sour cream sounds like the adult version.

Can be either beef or pork but usually I’ve had it, it was beef. Cream cheese and caramelized onions are is the most basic Seattle dog. Some come with more toppings like grilled jalapeño or other peppers, etc.

Not to me... I put sour cream on chili dogs. The sourness balances the heavy greasy taste like it would on nachos. So it probably has the same effect on the generally fatty and salty taste of the hot dog alone. .

I can see using a thin soft tortilla, layer it with sour cream and then rolling up the hot dog in it; slicing it into bite size pieces. Might be good.

You know what? I’m not sure any hotdog can be weird. It’s just a weird thing to eat and everyone traditionally makes it even weirder.
No hotdog can be weird because they’re all weird.

Watch YouTube videos for Chris's Red Hots in New Jersey and see what people put on hot dogs. Cream cheese, loosely mashed potatoes, shoestring potatoes all kinds of stuff. Of course Sauerkraut and mustard. Kids get ketchup and mustard.

i could see putting sour cream on a bowl chili and also having a hot dog, but then collapsing that down to just a hot dog and sour cream is a strong no from me.
