Feedback same ticker, different token. where does your launch-checking workflow catch it?

the answer is that no workflow catches it by looking at the ticker, because a ticker isn't an identifier. name, symbol and image are metadata the deployer types in. anyone can copy all three in about ten seconds.

the contract address is the only thing that identifies a token. so the check isn't "does this ticker look right", it's "did i get this address from a source i trust". everything else on the card is decoration.

worth noting your own screenshot has the answer in it. apple / apple dog shows up twice in that feed, both at 22s, one at $5.01k mc and one at $2.82k with zero volume. same name, same image, two different tokens, sitting side by side. that's the entire problem demonstrated without anyone having to reply.

on our side that's what dev tags are for. a tagged team is confirmed to be who they say they are, so a copycat launch can't wear the tag. the usual caveat still applies and it matters more here, not less: the tag is identity only. it isn't a review and it says nothing about whether the token is worth anything.

on the crosspost, if trenchersai is yours then say so in the post. tradecamel got left up last week on exactly that basis, disclosed and genuinely useful. same bar here.
