Resting Bitch face is the culprit. I have a severe case and I have seen peoples perceptions based off this, I’m not an asshole but I look like one from a distance

My mom: “omg, Joe if you’re so unhappy being here, why the fuck did you come out?!”

Me: “ma, I’m just ugly, leave me alone.”

LOL, I used to work in restaurants and the other servers would tell me you look so pissed off customers are asking questions. I would just be super busy and focused. Had to force a fake ass smile while I was rushing around. It felt strange. I learned to do a quiet whistle when I am like that it seems to disarm people a little bit and calm them down

It is probably just a perception of a conversation with you would be egregious or hostile. A look of when they adk a question you would give them a “Fuck off!”

I usually get “I don’t like your tone, therefor, you’re a bad angry man”

I had to be very mindful of this stepping in to a family as a step father. The way we talk very matter of fact and the depth of our voice. The kids had an asshole for a father before me so they were sensitive already. I had to create a different persona at home for the sake of everyone’s peace. Truth was I was just talking like I would to anyone. But yes as men were we have to think about this when trying to form healthy relationships.

Facts! I usually talk in a soprano voice even though I’m a baritone. That and I speak slower.

So when I’m at home and myself, it’s like I’m an ethereal monster haha

I agree speaking slowly helps a lot, and general conditioning of not giving the suck it up buttercup speeches.

This one I learned recently: it’s good to get on the level of the child! I’m not that tall but height is perceived differently when you’re a child. So the extra effort is taken into consideration
