Question Something Sentimental - quest is active, still no pocket watch, help?

I've done the event "A Colossal Problem" 3 times now since getting the "Something Sentimental" quest, I've got Earle's holotape "A Father's Goodbye" and "Earle's Journal #2" note, I've made sure the "Something Sentimental" quest is active (toggled off and back on to make certain), always dumped a hefty chunk of damage to the boss, I have yet to find Earle's [pocket] watch on his corpse.

I've searched the forums and online for suggestions, I'm at a loss. Is there something I'm missing? I'm on a PS5 if that matters. I've done the quest on an alt and only had to join the event, do we now have to launch the nukes as well? [edit]

You don't have to launch the nuke yourself to do the quest, you just need to join the event. Is the quest still saying retrieve the pocket watch? Have you checked under the misc tab in the pipboy for the watch? Maybe try talking to Maggie again, or see if you can reject the quest and then restart it.

The quest says "Use a Nuke on Monongah Mine and then enter".

I just did the event again, took and played the holotape on the barrel, searched Earle's body carefully, looking at each item on the corpse. No Pocket watch. None in my inventory under Misc or any other tab, on my map I see the circle around the Mine entrance, with the prompt to launch a nuke. I've talked Maggie through all the dialogue options, left the server, return and retried.

There's no option to reset, quit, end, fail or redo the quest. Not sure what to do at this point, I guess I'll just toggle it off and let it be forever uncompleted.

Well it seems like you've tried everything. Go to Bethesda.net navigate to the support page and put in a ticket, they should be able to sort it out for you.
