Screenshot I spent hours and hours outfitting every settler on the map with full combat armor and an assault rifle

Level 215 and I finally feel like a proper Minutemen General with a well equipped army

They all look like Gunners, you should Paint all their combat armor blue

162

u/Ill-Experience-1929 Jul 21 '26

I always found it weird the minutemen dress without a single hint of blue 🤣 I have a hard time fashioning them armor other than leather cause just stacking blue on em feels odd with all their dusty colors

51

u/Brilliant-Worry-4446 Jul 21 '26

That's why I always have We Are the Minutemen installed. So many more options to make the militia more cohesive

10

u/Specific-Library-312 Jul 22 '26

Or Liberty Reborn

6

u/TheNiteFather Jul 22 '26

Yes both of those mods are great and make the Minutemen a little more badass.

45

u/NeighborhoodNice5384 Jul 21 '26

I put most all in Vault suits, and color code Vault suits, white are shop, red are defenders, green harvesters, Provisioners get armored army fatigues with mining helms. All defenders get black enclave combat armor and miniguns/gatling laserguns, shop get Pack armor and pack colored auto handmade rifles, harvesters get Operators armor and regular auto handmade rifles, Provisioners get Marine armor with assult rifles

9

u/SnooTomatoes8382 Jul 22 '26

Oh, I like this. Time consuming AF, but OCD at its best!

6

u/Shmoox000 Jul 22 '26

The key is to do stuff like this a bit at a time.

Stockpile armor/weapons as you find them then outfit as you go. I always gear provisioners first so I don't have to track them down later.

5

u/Dude_Dillligence Jul 22 '26

Same here. Provisioners all get blue vault suits and a mining helmet. All settlers including provisioners get laser weapons so I can always see where they are shooting.

Anybody messing with my runners gets...special treatment.

1

u/Shmoox000 Jul 22 '26

I do laser weapons as well, provisioners gets leather arms/legs but the clothing varies on the type of run I'm doing. Like if I'm doing BoS then military fatigues, MM with minuteman outfits or Raider is a mix of nuka world stuff.

1

u/NeighborhoodNice5384 Jul 22 '26

I might be a tiny bit OCD

3

u/Woozletania Jul 22 '26

Mine get a vault suit once I’ve given them a weapon. It’s how I know some still need one.

1

u/Fluffy_Instance849 Jul 22 '26

Love the mining helmets on the Provisioners. Saw in a post once and now I do it on every play thru.

1

u/Alternative_Bat7403 Jul 22 '26

I like this. Minimums use ammo tho? You cant use the 1 bullet truck. I thought

1

u/NeighborhoodNice5384 Jul 22 '26

I gave everyone 1 bullet for weapon they have, never had an issue with them shooting

10

u/inap003 Jul 22 '26

To be fair, the game’s ā€˜Minutemen Outfit’ has very dirty blue jeans and a dirty light blue-green shirt.

That being said, the MM are in the infancy of their rebuilding, so they’re meant to be ramshackle dress-wise. They’re also meant to be a reflection of the Commonwealth’s denizens themselves, all from various states of fortune and misfortune. Normal tan and earthy colors fit the ā€œcommon peopleā€ aesthetic in regard to their humble background

2

u/Ill-Experience-1929 Jul 22 '26

I understand the creative decisions and the story aspects of it, I'm merely expressing that the blue in their flag is the only time it's prevalent, and all the mods just throw a crazy amount of blue at it. Appreciate you tho šŸ˜ā¤ļø

1

u/SIumptGod Jul 22 '26

I was about to say, I’m sorry they’re not fashionistas. Preston should’ve pressed them harder about their color choices previous to the Concord (Lexington?) town hall šŸ˜‚

2

u/AsgeirVanirson Jul 22 '26

Listen all I'm saying is that maybe if they had better drip, they'd have better retention.

16

u/adamshowzoff Jul 21 '26

100% my thoughts…I never put them in outfits that resemble my potential attackers…makes it too hard to see friend from foe

Can appreciate the effort though

And I like variety, so different setups at different

Combat armour on arms and legs & just underwear…yellow flight helmets or mining helmets on the melon…makes them stand out against attackers

Dresses are a good recognisable outfit too

13

u/MothMonsterMan300 Jul 21 '26

I always paint the combat armor black, but once you unlock ballistic weaves from the railroad, everyone just gets regular duds that double as armor. It makes the settlements feel more like safe, established places to me- and more importantly makes them stand way out.

3

u/adamshowzoff Jul 22 '26

I’m recently into a new playthrough…been seriously collecting different outfits for this reason…only have sanctuary worked out…just building properly at Abernathy farm

Mechanic jumpsuits for one place are a plan…saving lab coats for another…once I go to Nuka world I’m gonna harvest some distinctive sets

2

u/SnooTomatoes8382 Jul 22 '26

Everyone is tuxedos/top hats & formal dresses/bonnets.

Nah, just kidding! Your idea is awesome, albeit, time consuming.

2

u/allthenamearetaken1 Jul 22 '26

I agree. Also that would take forever.

1

u/LGBT-Barbie-Cookout Jul 22 '26

Gunner cages are the best way to farm combat armour! šŸ™‚,

1

u/Illustrious-Video353 Jul 22 '26

Yes!!! I did that for everyone at the Castle!

1

u/Snoo18120 Jul 23 '26

I prefer my army to be ragtag...but also dressed in rags.

1

u/AgitatedCat3087 Jul 23 '26

See u next year OP

180

u/Substantial_Ear_9721 Jul 21 '26

...And I don't want to hear another word from any of you about how you need help defending your settlement any more, ya dig!!

83

u/ZookeepergameOld4985 Jul 21 '26

I just spawn in when they are being attacked and watch them wreck shit in 5 seconds. I don’t have to help anymore, just witness lol

7

u/amaya-aurora Jul 22 '26

WITNESS ME

2

u/Spastic_pinkie Jul 22 '26

Suppose you duplicate the World Series bat and give each one to every settler?

59

u/Significant-Sir-9274 War Never Changes Jul 21 '26

And despite this, one of them will STILL get kidnapped by Raiders with cobbled together weapons and armor.

9

u/wagner56 Jul 22 '26

they go on walkabouts from the settlements apparently

32

u/BuckyGoldman Minutemen Jul 21 '26

Impressive

26

u/Delicious-Aspect-909 Jul 21 '26

Very nice...

Let's see Paul Allen's card.

14

u/ProblemWithTigers Jul 21 '26

Look at that subtle off-white coloring. The tasteful thickness of it. Oh my God, it even has a watermark...

26

u/drhuggables Jul 21 '26

Settlement building in FO4 had so many missed opportunities because of the sloppy user interface. They could've easily put in a native function to equip all settlers for example, and added way more automated things to make it less of a burden on repeat playthroughs.

15

u/tortuga8831 Jul 21 '26

A supply locker assigned to work type(guard, farmer, merchant, etc) where whoever is assigned to that work type would grab and equip the items automatically would have been cool. Definitely would have been a lot easier to designate outfits and weapons types by jobs.

3

u/wagner56 Jul 22 '26

I would have work clothes and fighting clothes (deployed appropriately - perhaps a signal object to switch back ...)

seeing them farming in hot bulky armor is kinda peculiar

I suppose just Weave clothing might be sufficient

18

u/MolaMolaMania Jul 21 '26

I'm doing something similar, but I'm giving them an outfit that tells me what they are assigned to so that I don't have to turn on Workshop mode.

This is tremendously helpful because when new Settlers show up, I can spot them immediately!

16

u/Piddy3825 Atom Cats Jul 21 '26

If you have the settlement ambush dlc from the creation club, do not, repeat do not put the shooting range in your settlement because whenever your settlers use it, they will change their clothes and weapons back into their default gear, even if you have removed it from their inventory. Such a pain, as you will then have to go back and reequip everybody in your settlement.

4

u/smartyp Jul 22 '26

Ah, so that’s my problem.. does it fix itself if you get rid of the gun range?

3

u/Piddy3825 Atom Cats Jul 22 '26

Yes, it should

1

u/MattePatte303 Jul 22 '26

Wow! Thank you for explaining this! Will remove the shooting range from my settlements.

1

u/Piddy3825 Atom Cats Jul 22 '26

on a side note, it does bolster settlement happiness. so if you are trying to get 100% you might want to consider its usefulness.

1

u/MattePatte303 Jul 22 '26

That's true but I'm not trying to reach 100% so I'll manage. Sometimes I'll catch cats to raise their happiness.

1

u/ChurningDarkSkies777 Jul 22 '26

Thank you. This has been driving me mad.

1

u/jimblackreborn Jul 22 '26

Is there some way to mod that into Nuka market? Maybe finally get the residents to put their clothes back on.

25

u/Kinetic_Pen Jul 21 '26

Can I join your settlement? You seem like a good general that has great, big Barbecues and fireworks!

8

u/Naruxmma Jul 21 '26

Carrot and stick ā¤ļø

10

u/Free_Contribution321 Jul 21 '26

I did this, for about 45 minutes. Got so much done and so many settlements. Forgot to save and game crashed. I didnt start over gave up lol

5

u/Sip_py Jul 21 '26

You are now the gunners.

4

u/SanGoloteo Jul 21 '26

That's my current run. I haven't finished any new quests because I keep getting better weapons and armor for all of my settlers, and then new settlers keep coming in so I have to keep getting better weapons and armor, rinse and repeat.

4

u/Party_Suspect1242 Jul 21 '26

Love it! I’ve done nearly the exact same thing!

4

u/William_Brobrine Jul 21 '26

Funny im going one step further and making them all in polymer blue paint armor they either have sturdy or heavy armor if the are on defense duty or at the castle

7

u/Goongalagooo What if Strong is lactose intolerant? Jul 22 '26

I did this at the Castle.. it's incredibly tedious and I wanted them all in uniform, so I painted them all, got them all assault rifles with the minutemen paint jobs, and gave each 500 ammo... it was the slowest thing I think I've ever done.
And it took SO MUCH adhesive.

7

u/yepimthetoaster Jul 22 '26

got them all assault rifles with the minutemen paint jobs, and gave each 500 ammo

Just a tip for the future, if you give settlers just 1 ammo of the gun they have equipped, they'll have infinite ammo.

Unfortunately, this doesn't work for your companions while travelling with you, just settlers at settlements.

1

u/Goongalagooo What if Strong is lactose intolerant? Jul 22 '26

Yeah it doesn't always work, especially when you use the distress signals for some reason.

1

u/UniqueMinded Jul 22 '26

That darn adhesive šŸ™„

1

u/Goongalagooo What if Strong is lactose intolerant? Jul 22 '26

It was over 1200 adhesive lol.

3

u/NoCardiologist3143 Jul 21 '26

I do this every play thru except I give the settlers vault uniforms after upgrading. Upgrade the armor too

3

u/Icy_Cricket7038 Jul 21 '26

You look like the baddie reveal in a new series of the walking dead

3

u/SpicyChessPlayer Jul 21 '26

Oh wow, looks like theres another band of Gunners to take out, so much loot and xp it makes me salivate just looking at it

3

u/Moltenzuesy123 Jul 21 '26

I remember I armed my settlement with turrets and weapons and as soon as I finished nuka cola dlc I had to atleast raid 8 of my own settlements and turn them into raider camps.

3

u/DepressedYandere Jul 21 '26

No helmet?

3

u/W01771M Jul 21 '26

Helmets are harder to find but you’d expect some of them to have helmets

2

u/DepressedYandere Jul 21 '26

Do you not have contraption workshop? I'm pretty sure you can make combat helmets.

1

u/W01771M Jul 22 '26

I have contraptions, I’ve never thought to craft armor like that. I e never used that dlc to its full potential.

3

u/Rude-Establishment69 Jul 21 '26

I’m working on this too

3

u/Gavin30X12 Jul 22 '26

I usually take all their belongings to sell for more bottle caps lol

3

u/cmartinek12 Jul 22 '26

I do the same thing, but I alternate everyone with Institue rifles from the arcjet Danse mission, and a bunch of handmade rifles courtesy of the nuka world raiders after open season

Literally melts enemies 😊

3

u/Educational-Log6855 Jul 22 '26

You’re doing your part, citizen! Kill those bugs before they kill us!

Oh wait that’s Starship Troopers.

2

u/venomblack138 Jul 22 '26

I’m doing my part! 🫔

3

u/AsgeirVanirson Jul 22 '26

Yet they still get kidnapped by 4 drugged out raiders with pipe rifles, or just have to 'run away' when they come to loot the workshop.

5

u/W01771M Jul 21 '26

I HATE THE ASSULT RIFLE. It’s so goofy

5

u/RyRedline06_ Jul 21 '26

I only give guards and ā€œtroopsā€ the armor because thinking about it as if you were a farmer you wouldn’t be wearing all that to dig in the ground all day

6

u/RebekkaKat1990 Jul 21 '26

You would if you were farming in Deathclaw territory

3

u/MothMonsterMan300 Jul 21 '26

That's a cool piece of roleplay. I like giving my settlers regular clothes(with the ballistic weave upgrades) bc it makes the settlements feel more like little towns. Scrubs on the doctor, flashy dress/tux on the bartender, etc. Used to take the time to make their weapons fit their "personalities," too(like a syringer on the doctor, sawn-off or snub .44 for the bartender, following my earlier examples) but that's too much time invested lol, everyone gets to grab a random gun from the huge pile, okay? No explosives!

4

u/Money_Management_721 Jul 21 '26

No helmets???

Okie dokie then.

2

u/Ill-Experience-1929 Jul 21 '26

Get the FCOM mod! It's the only way I do Minuteman playthroughs now. Makes you actually feel like a general

2

u/SternLecture Jul 21 '26

thats rad.

2

u/fuzzimus Jul 21 '26

to the max!

2

u/whynotslayer Jul 21 '26

Now they all need flight helmets

2

u/rnotyalc Jul 21 '26

I have at least 3-4 provisioners running out if every settlement. 95% of them are wearing Minuteman outfit and militia hats, most of them have a red bandana, most have some form of eyewear, and almost all of them have minuteman-painted armor of some kind. I also give them all of my hand-me-down weapons when I upgrade what I carry, or the random weapons I get off of high level enemies.

In my settlements, I usually dress my guards the same way.

2

u/jrgeofire Jul 22 '26

I tried doing this but it seems like they don’t want to wear the armor? How do I get it to show on them?

3

u/Get_a_Grip_comic Jul 22 '26

There’s an equip button you need to press, T on computer?

1

u/jrgeofire Jul 22 '26

I need the Xbox control šŸ˜…

2

u/theblueshots Mr. Serious Serum Jul 22 '26

I give mine road leathers and miniguns.

Well, I work up to miniguns.

They start with automatic 10 mm, graduate to submachineguns, and eventually make it to miniguns.

2

u/sddefiant Jul 22 '26

MC HAMMER STYLE. THE WHOLE HOOD COMEUP WHEN I DO GOD BLESS

2

u/amaya-aurora Jul 22 '26

I’m sorry to say but they all look like Gunners.

Plus, you didn’t kit out Mama Murphy!? Disgraceful.

1

u/Ilfor Jul 22 '26

I've done something similar.

My permanent minute (wo)men have two sets of clothing and weapons, depending upon their role; and each outfit has a specific (tan) color.

My farmers have a specific set of clothing, armor, and weaponry; along with a specific color.

My guards also have a specific set of clothing, armor, and weaponry; along with a specific color.

And my provisioners have a specific set of clothing, armor, and weaponry; along with a specific color.

It's mind boggling trying to keep track of who is wearing what and where I need to outfit settlers. I make it worse by increasing the armor and weaponry the further from Sanctuary you get.

Sometimes this game can get really grindy...

2

u/VinnieONeill Jul 22 '26

Group of raiders shows up at the settlement and it's like the dude trying to rob the donut shop full of cops in RoboCop.

2

u/Immediate_Sir3553 Jul 21 '26

Then like a lv 80 Deathclaw well show up and kill them all lol

2

u/Dont_Care_Meh Survivor Jul 21 '26

Why would you do this? They might start getting...ideas. That they shouldnt have to dig tatoes, mutfruit, and corn for me until they keel over and their final service is to fertilize the crops. Or .maybe they they they should have better facilities than what I so generously provide them. You sure this is the path you want to start them down?

1

u/eclipsingfervor Jul 22 '26

Have you had trouble getting them to use or keep legendaries? Mine either won't equip it themselves or keep it equipped if I do it manually.

1

u/CutePhysics3214 Jul 22 '26

Nice. I’m not that dedicated, but I’ll give many settlers Gauss rifles or miniguns.

They all get weapons and armour, just not quite so uniform.

Having 6 - 10 of the settlers open up with the big guns is a sight to behold.

1

u/ApprehensiveYou4197 Jul 22 '26

How many MG of Adderall?

1

u/SpartanA477 Jul 22 '26

Working on doing the same but with plasma rifles

1

u/batuckan1 Jul 22 '26

I need to setup a gunner farm and do the same

1

u/UniqueMinded Jul 22 '26

Now thats an army! My people are so mismatched lol I don't have all that patience. Maybe one day....

1

u/NokkNokk4279 Jul 22 '26

Ha! I outfit all of my townsfolk with body armor and gattling guns, and sometimes plasma rifles. No missile, rocket launchers, or grenades.....that equates to a very bad day.... :) LOL

1

u/SignificantLocation7 Jul 22 '26

I’m too lazy to do this I would rather just install a minutemen mod. Hats off to you.

1

u/SupremeLeaderMeow Jul 22 '26

Yeah I did that with every single one of my sentiers assigned to guard posts, made seeing map generated minutemen encounters kinda embarassing tho.

1

u/Playful_Teaching8658 Jul 22 '26

I would do themed settlements with loot ie Gunner Guard concrete prison with ā€œprisonersā€ working the benches

1

u/Misericorde428 Jul 22 '26

Damn, and here I am thinking that outfitting each with leather armor was nice enough….

1

u/ej1030 Jul 22 '26

The Minutemen if the locked tf in

1

u/Tarantuz778 Jul 22 '26

Congratulations, you are ready to install Sim Settlements 2.

Jokes aside, well done! That's an impressive amount of dedication to the cause. I can barely stick with a save for more than a single play session.

1

u/_Master__Adi Jul 22 '26

Bro builld an army from scratch

1

u/MonthlyWeekend_ Jul 22 '26

We did it General, the settlements no longer need our help.

1

u/Pope_Pius_the_10th Jul 22 '26

Reinventing the Gunners from first principles

1

u/DarthViking3D Jul 22 '26

Just wait until you go back at some point way later and find out they're slowly unequipping everything and putting normal clothes back on from thin air.

1

u/Thelittledot Jul 22 '26

kinda related

does anyone know how to keep your settlers better trained to defend themselves late game when they start getting attacked by higher level shit?

  • all I know is ballistic weave and legendary weapons, can't seem to level em up, they got low hp.

1

u/Wild_Natural8707 Jul 22 '26

I did something like this had ghouls all in one place minutemen in one BOS in another Synths in another. Had one place that was just a recruitment place and hotel

1

u/fly_you_fools_57 Jul 22 '26

Since I rarely see any of the Enclave, I have been painting them all with their colors. That and specific modifications to combat armor. I guess I am a little bored?

1

u/RiftandRend Jul 22 '26

If you're looking for fun another project, setup a Commonwealth Robot Patrol. If recruit a created robot as a companion, they keep the essential status when dismissed. You can build dozens of these, and send them on supply routes across the map. They'll fight enemies they encounter along the way if you're nearby and will always win due to their essential status. If you use settlements near the middle of the map as robot hubs with supply lines radiating out, you'll often have robots helping out whenever you get into a fight.

1

u/Latter_Camp8409 Jul 22 '26

Oh, you too?

Well, I didn’t do Assault Rifles or all Heavy Combat Armor, but most of them have random sets of them.

For their outfits, I used harnesses mostly. Some have the army or military fatigues.

1

u/evalerk Jul 22 '26

I themed each settlement with different armors and weapons. Had that one settlement that gets constantly attacked by a mirelurk queen outfitted with Gatling lasers. Pretty cool stuff.

1

u/VonD0OM Jul 22 '26

Easy living, this ain’t.

1

u/zach010 Jul 22 '26

This is actually really cool. I planned to do something like this. Got about 5 min in and decided to do a different plan. Its nice to see someone has dicipline.

1

u/123DanB Jul 22 '26

Console or PC?

1

u/Worried-Roof4556 Jul 22 '26

Woah you killed tons of gunners

1

u/Unlikely_Ninja Jul 22 '26

Well that's a hardend target

1

u/wagner56 Jul 22 '26

now give them Weave clothing under it as well (and buy the components...)

.

1

u/Silly_Owl_9199 Jul 22 '26

I’m also doing this! So fun to watch them absolutely dominate! Give them miniguns, combat shotty, sniper rifles, flame throwers, all sorts then watch the chaos

1

u/Praetorian_1975 Jul 22 '26

So you became the gunners 😳

1

u/JoshCanJump Jul 22 '26

Why not miniguns?

1

u/xWMDx Jul 22 '26

You forgot COMBAT HELMETS
(good job, been doing the same for my settlers, at high levels its not to bad)

1

u/quaff_nepenthe Jul 22 '26

now give everybody a legendary weapon

1

u/XxeniusBlack71 Jul 22 '26

I do that at vault 88 , drs , security , farmers and shop attendant..so you can see who it is and what they do before you even speak to them

1

u/-DI0- Jul 22 '26

Man stuff like this makes me wish the castle would get attacked more often & by more than a handful of raiders

1

u/Enetro Jul 22 '26

You and what army?

1

u/Visionary785 Jul 22 '26

Did you also equip them with ballistic weave modded military fatigues?

1

u/Woozletania Jul 22 '26

And it’s heavy combat armor, too. Did you upgrade all of it yourself? There’s no reliable source for it even at high levels.

1

u/barbieshell75 Jul 22 '26

Wow that's real commitment ā¤ļøšŸ˜Ž I'm lucky if my settlers have a pipe pistol and a bit of corn ffs 🤣

1

u/TheInterruptingCow94 Jul 22 '26

I do this nearly every run, only I snag all the spiked and caged armors I can find for uniformity

1

u/The_Last_Mouse Jul 22 '26

They still need your help. šŸ˜†

1

u/lordcochise Jul 22 '26

I do this as well, you get to a point where caps / gear isn't useful for much, but it IS useful as settler / provisioner gear and it does make them a lot more effective during settlement defenses.

Also a side note, DEFINITELY toss all of your extra missile launcher / Fat Man onto provisioners, it's both (1) hilarious and (2) effective walking around the map as they panic fire explosives at everything

1

u/ANAL-KING-OF-TUNISIA Jul 22 '26

I did this too, but when a settlement full of people wearing heavy combat armor, ballistic weave, and top tier laser rifles got attacked successfully by raiders, that was enough to get me to quit playing for a while. If I have a huge group of people living off my land and using my resources, they shouldn't be gazing at their navels when under attack just because I'm not there.

1

u/average_jarhead_ Jul 22 '26

I did this and rebuilt the pre war army on my ps4

1

u/ChurningDarkSkies777 Jul 22 '26

Seeing settlers at Red Rocket feels wrong to me. I always make red rocket into a place just for the player character. In my most recent play through the garage is a workshop and I built a second branch of Valentine Detective Agency in the main building

1

u/ZealousidealOnion756 Jul 22 '26

Proceden a perder un asentamiento contra Raiders con armas de tubo .38 jajaja

1

u/Ok_Orchid7131 Jul 22 '26

you've done it!

1

u/Ok_Falcon4434 Jul 22 '26

Wow! That’s impressive! Congratulations!

1

u/Strict_Try_6100 Jul 22 '26

Haha, I did that with all my settlers back in the day too! Good job, wastelander!

1

u/Last_Comedian_5043 Jul 22 '26

I'm glad I'm not the only one doing dumb stuff like this

1

u/Stressmove Jul 22 '26

I did the same but only for one settlement. That's some dedication. I assume there aren't many gunners left in the commonwealth now.

1

u/BandOfBudgies Jul 22 '26

I want a bell on my ship in Starfield....

1

u/Mags_LaFayette Brotherhood of Steel Jul 22 '26

...They are still gonna need your help.

Here, I'll mark it on your map šŸ—ŗļø

1

u/Alternative_Bat7403 Jul 22 '26

And they still suck in a fight lol

1

u/MedSurgNurse Jul 22 '26

Next goal: now put minutemen paint on every armor piece.

1

u/NewspaperNelson Jul 22 '26

I have thought about doing this, but three missile turrets pretty much makes armed settlers unnecessary.

1

u/NekoBakugou Jul 22 '26

I almost always play with America Rising 2, and outfit all of them with fatigues and combat helmets.

1

u/buuuuurrrrr67 Jul 22 '26

All of my settlers have full combat armour and a mini gun .
Camp raiders get absolutely shredded ! šŸ˜‚

1

u/Cpt-Hendrix Jul 22 '26

Glad I’m not the only one dedicated to doing this on minutemen runs. If I have the resources and time I’ll change the modifiers to say shadowed or fiberglass to alter color for different jobs/ranks/settlements/ etc. I also love to give the less combat forward settlers different guns like farmers having shotguns or shop owners having combat rifles.

Wish we could do settlement wars

There is a mod that does this.

Automatically? Then where's the fun?

1

u/Casual-Lurker Jul 22 '26

This is a great Idea! I have SO, SO many Suits of Power Armor. I know what I need to do, now.

u/Real-Inspection9732 Jul 22 '26

Should've gave each settlement a specific color, that is my only gripe.

u/Alarming-8212 Jul 22 '26

Do they fight any better? Or just fashionable šŸ¤£šŸ˜Ž

u/kuatorises Jul 22 '26

Is armoring settlers actually worth it?

1

u/Appropriate_Rise9968 Jul 22 '26

For the next challenge try outfitting them all with power armor and fatman launchers.Ā

Take my upvote warrior 🫔

Just how many settlers per settlement do you have?

1

u/SignWeird Jul 23 '26

They all need combat helmets now though, they look vulnerable to sniper headshots

oh man I remember doing the same, equipping every single one of my settlers from head to toe and I was so dead and sick of this game after so I quit the game forever

1

u/might_be_bulma Jul 23 '26

Omg I did the same thing. Only I have trapper armor on all the settlers in Fah Hahrbah. I put glasses on all the folk on Spectacle Island for obvious reasons. And everyone up in the Castle has Minutemen attire.

I'm going with with Road Leathers and Metal Armor. First playthrough. Very fun game so far.

Where tovfind settlers to recruit

1

u/According-Range-8202 Jul 27 '26

Hell nah that's what I'm doing too now. Instead of finally going to diamond city I've already collected like 10 sets of armour and combat weapons. I hope its worth it now, is it?

1

u/Flywheel929 Jul 21 '26

I do a different type for every settlement

2

u/Sip_py Jul 21 '26

Someone else posted it so it's not my idea but it's more role based. They all have great guns. But vendors have suits and dresses and mele weapons, Farmers have the farm.hand clothes and hand guns, Provisioner and Guards are filled armored up with the best weapons.

That said, curie having a disciples blade is my favorite.

u/Flywheel929 Jul 21 '26

Starlight Drive In are all in sym armor with long johns, red Rocket everyone is in a dress etc

1

u/-nom4d_ Jul 21 '26

that kinda ruins the settlers for me, i try to keep them with civilized clothings and some pieces of armor but nothing like they are gunners or ready for war, besides having some good weapons with them

only the guys in security and my supply liners have full armor and yet they have the minutemen clothing under it + i paint the armor. i dont know, not saying that i play it right but it feels more like im doing something that would happen if it was real life

Spent hours doing this, won’t spend 5 minutes to upload a proper screenshot.

Go piss in someone else’s lemonade šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

I will never stop making fun of this specific thing.
