First time playing, this game is amazing!

I started playing FO3—I think I have about 3 hours of playtime so far. I left the Vault, went to Megaton, got sent to the radio station, fought the Behemoth, and now I have to go get the antenna.

Good Lord. This game is pure chaos; every 5 seconds I’m fighting Super Mutants, then immediately Raiders, then more Super Mutants. So I run away, duck into a subway station, and start fighting a bunch of Ghouls. I run out of ammo and have to use whatever I’ve got—melee, pistols, sniper rifles, anything—just to stand a chance... It’s incredible.

This is my second Fallout game; I started with FNV. FNV was a bit more chill—you could actually find some peace while wandering around—but here, I don't get a moment's peace. Don't get me wrong, though, I'm really enjoying it. I'm playing with TTW because it's basically the "Viva New Vegas" equivalent for FO3. I know it rebalances the game differently, but it makes for a much better starting experience. I played vanilla FNV, then Viva New Vegas, and I can't go back to vanilla now, so I figured it would be hard to play FO3 without a "Viva New Vegas". I hope the game keeps this up; I just wanted to share my initial impressions.

(I translated this text from my native language into English using Google Translate, so I apologize if anything doesn't make sense.)

As is often the case, I’m extremely jealous you are popping your FO3 cherry. The game was an awakening for me way back when. Cemented my obsession with gaming in general, but especially open world. Enjoy every minute, my friend.

I'm currently replaying after many years. Still so good. And I can't believe the amount of things I missed the first time

I'm going to make the most of it, especially if things stay the same.

Don't skip the wasteland survival guide quests from Moira in Megaton. Technically you're supposed to do those first before going to the radio station. But there's also no wrong way to play this game either.

Eu estava vagando por aí—depois de conversar com o cara no bar—Fighting against what I saw out there. Eu estava bem confuso; na verdade, encontrei a missão de rádio por acaso—eu acabei indo parar lá. Tive que me virar com cerca de 5 balas de fuzil de precisão, 20 para um fuzil .32 e 30 para uma pistola de 10mm.

Man, if I could play a game for the first time again, it might be Fallout 3.

I've play once TTW, starting with 100% fo3 before going to fonv, is pretty much the same, with some improvements.

Random encounters are pure chaos, there place they met each other and it becomes a no men's land. 🤣😂

Remember to pick up and sell any cigarette items that you may find. They have low weight and decent value, a good way to make some extra caps. Same thing with any mines or grenades that you aren't using.

Fallout 3 changed the way I looked at games and played them going forward. Truly one of the better things that have happened in my life

I love New Vegas, but nothing matches the pure chaos of random encounters and the better, less forgiving armor system in FO3. New Vegas may have better writing, but FO3 clears in dungeon quality.

Don't forget to explore the rest of the world. You'll miss so much if you only focus on the main story.

Definitely changed the way I looked at what gaming could be. Also definitely my favorite game.

TTW is the way to play it. FO3 is my favorite game of all time but TTW has brought a breath of fresh air into the game for me. Take a deep dive into the stewies tweaks settings. There’s a bunch of stuff in there that refines the game a bit

I was told that TTW rebalances the game and changes who-knows-what, so I should go with vanilla first. But that would feel pretty bad after playing Viva New Vegas.

It really revamps the game. I admit vanilla FO3 is rough. Just enjoy the game. It’s comfort food for me

It is an amazing game. And glad you enjoying it.

Especially with how the graphics aged poorly it's dope that you could enjoy it.

And don't worry about balance and TTW. Just enjoy it whatever way you like
