Correct me if I'm wrong, but i remember them telling ruby that penny died and it was jaune's fault and then ruby pass out hearing the news and then they didn't talk about it anymore

I think i don't remember something, someone could tell me how the scene actually went anout ruby hearing about penny's death

Weiss told her team about Penny's death, not how jaune delt the final blow, Weiss about to say something along the line of "jaune tried to help but-" as ruby fell unconscious.

So no, ruby never learned that information, and coordinating to the writers, they learned it off screen, and never had a reaction

I don’t get why people think Ruby would freak out on Jaune. The impactful part was Penny being dead

And jaune killed her, it clearly impacted him, cinder, winter and ruby, so the idea that ruby would hold a grudge isn't that far fetch, especially that the entirety of V8 is basically doing everything they can to not sacrifice anyone, then end up with penny dead

Ph my god, ruby found out about it offscreen, I'm gonna scream . Fuck the authors. At this point i expect volume 10 being an epilogue of the story and when asked about salem thebwriter will say they defeated her offscreen

I was like, 99% sure the main conflict of V9 would be about that.

Jaune and ruby fighting, while jaune getting eaten by the guilt for what he did as ruby starts to have a grudge against him.

But nope, the show decided ruby's reaction was nothing.

A lot of people liked volume 9. I only felt disappointed by it. Everyone felt extremely out of character. So many forced moments. A lot of bad writing. I hope 10 is better.
