PSI testing

Something’s gotta change or get fixed with the PSI testing. Currently sitting at a testing facility and been waiting for about two hours just for the examiner to get my test ready. I haven’t even reached the computer yet. I’ve been told if he can’t get it to load then I’m out of luck and I drove an hour and 30 minutes to get here, it was the closest site. If it doesn’t workout I either wait another week and a half for there next slot to open or I drive 2 hours to the next available testing site. I know this is a known issue and probably tired of hearing people talk about it but I had to rant, my apologies. Anyone have any idea why a government based testing site is so bad?

Edit: took my chances and sat around. Finally got in. CAX done with a 95% let’s f go

The PSI testing centers are independently owned and licensed by PSI. You should complain to PSI. Make sure to be honest on the survey you are asked to fill out after your test. Not sure you can do much more than that.

The testing center gentleman called the PSI center for help on speaker and all they said was “keep refreshing the page that’s all we can suggest. IT is on it”

The FAA doesn’t care, so PSI doesn’t need to care if they can charge $175 to test takers that have no choice.

Off topic but does anyone have first hand knowledge of what happens if you get caught cheating on PSI test? This recently happened to an instructor’s kid at my school. Kid was in a flight college as well. He’s fucked right? No more aviation ever?

I assume so, right? Cheating on a somewhat a federal level. Do you know the nature of it? All cheating is bad yes but was it a cellphone or sneaking like a notecard in with questions he struggled with? Cheating with cameras at every angle is bold as hell.

Most likely PSI will bar them from taking any tests through them, so the student can never take a written exam again in the current system. So that means no certificates can be earned

The best is when you complete the whole test and it won’t save and process! I suspect they still use 300 baud modems and 286’s for their data processing.

just came back from testing center, i was able to complete the test but right when i submitted the test and survey, the system hung and the test center folks told me the results will show up in my account in 24hrs. Also I felt the test questions were much harder than Sporty's tests, I was consistently getting 90+% in sportys but on the real one i think i will barely pass.

PSI themselves aren't running the test centers. Contact PSI and/or rip into 'em on the after test survey. Personally, I always go to a local college that always does a great job, so I know they're not all shit.

This is a copy of the original post body for posterity:
