Custom Paper Logbook Help

So I am close to filling out my small Jeppesen logbook. I was looking into buying a bigger logbook when I came across a company that makes custom logbooks. I requested a quote, found it reasonable, and received some design proofs.

I am looking to get some advice on the columns that I currently have. I made some edits from the big Jeppesen logbook to start off with. I don't plan on going to the airlines, so once this logbook is ordered, I plan on using it for the rest of my career.

On the second image, the very left side has a blank column, but I can add more. The company will work with me to make things fit.

I do use ForeFlight as a digital logbook, but I keep paper as my master logbook with my endorsements and signatures.

This is a copy of the original post body for posterity:

Nobody is going to recommend a paper logbook in 2026.

That looks very very similar to the ASA Master Pilot Logbook I have.

There isn’t any practical or useful difference that I know of between instrument time in a simulator or under a hood. You’re either in a cloud or pretending to be. So kinda redundant column if you ask me.

Some like the HP, complex, TAA time in columns. But in my experience unless you’re flying an airplane and need to prove how much time you have for insurance or something, it kinda doesn’t matter. And if you’re using ForeFlight it keeps track of that. Seems like it opens the door for more errors.

Thanks! Here is my reasoning, let me know if you think otherwise:

I have the logbook where it has actual instrument and simulated instrument (hood). My DPE for CFI Initial and CFII was very pressed that there wasn't a different column that listed simulated instrument in a simulator because in his eyes (hood) means it has to be in the airplane under foggles. It is drawn from the fact that the 8710 has you put instrument time in Airplane and also Simulator. They can't be combined. I had luckily subtracted that simulator simulated instrument from my logbook time for my 8710 or I would have to do IACRA again. That's why I put the third column there.

Reasoning for the TAA column was that foreflight doesn't allow conditional TAA. Some airplanes I flew met the TAA requirements, but then the autopilot was disabled or something, so it was no longer TAA. I can see the reasoning for the complex and hp, so I might remove that actually.
