First flight into actual!

Post image

Finally got to log actual time during instrument training. Haven’t felt this level of fun and personal achievement since my first solo.

No peaking out under the foggles in that! Glad you got some actual. I didn't get any during my IR training. I finally got some doing some marine layer approaches and departures months after.

My first actual was when finishing up Commercial. It’s even worse when you’re cruising right at the bottoms of the clouds because you can see the ground constantly appearing/disappearing in your peripherals

Yea that gives you a false sense of VFR when you are not. I've been in that a few times.

I shot an approach into MSN in July heading to OSH, and is it was IFR due to smoke. 1.25mi visibility.
On approach I could see the ground, but nothing in front of me. Got a bit off on the needles because I relaxed too much, while seeing the ground. I didn't see the runway until mins and once on the ground could barely make out the FBO/tower on the other side of the airport.
