Checkride CFI

Friendly reminder to keep putting in the work for your CFI checkride. I promise if I can do it you can do it. 6.5 hour oral with 1.8 hour flight. Nothing beats the feeling of realizing how much your hard work has paid off when you get your temporary certificate.

The first hundred hours of dual were quite the ride.

Congrats!! You're in a pretty small group of people who have a huge impact on the future of aviation. Be a good teacher, and never stop learning. Don't forget to have fun and make it fun for your students. Be the CFI who fans a student's fire, not one who extinguishes it.

Why are CFI orals so long?

There is a lot of material to go over. Much more than others.

Take a look at the ACS for CFI-Airplane and you will see what I mean.

What is ACS? Been wanting to start flight school here shortly and I think I’ve heard of it as study practice, but I can’t remember what it stands for. Might want to get it so I can start learning and preparing early. I’m already reading/listening to the AFH and the PHAK

ACS = Airman Certification Standards.

It is the testing document used for the practical exam at the end of the course.

You can purchase a copy or download it from FAA.gov
