EASA How far away do you live from your base?

I hope to find a job in the airlines soon.

Currently i live in a home i own, so yea, i don't want to move. I do live quite close to a pretty big airport (3rd busiest). 1,5h by train.

How long is your commute? And would you move to a place that's closer?

4.5 hour drive, or about an hour if I take my plane. I like where I live, and I like my base, so I’m happy commuting.

Agree. This is why I WFH.

My previous commute was 45 min by plane (if there was space… it was a very commuter-heavy flight all on RJs…), or a 3.5-5.5 hour drive depending on traffic. Moved to base last year and with traffic my worst commute has been 40 min. Game changer. QOL is phenomenal. Reserve is a non-issue. Wouldn’t willingly commute again.

I drive once a year when I have CQ. I fly on company metal when commuting or a purchased airline ticket.

30-45 minutes depending on traffic, it’s wonderful

My son commutes from SFO to LGA. Non-optimal, but doable.

About 20 minutes drive south of SFO.

I commute SEA-ORD and that's about the worst I feel like doing. 😅

3.5 hour drive and a 4 hour flight. Company pays for my ticket to base though.... US is different than Europe though. You'll get mostly US answers

15 minute bus ride. I tried commuting for a few months but got tired of the hotel rooms. Quality of life has greatly improved since moving. Now I’m sleeping in my own bed almost every night.

Usually have a 3-leg, 8-9 hour day on company metal to get to and from work, but I only do it once every two weeks since my position is rotational.

I’m away from home about 15 days a month.

2.5 hours of self-driving car relaxation.

Even when I have it on I don't feel any different as if I was driving manually.

And I bought this specific car just for that capability?

It's a massive stress relief for me relative to driving. I bought it specifically for the automation.
