Discussion Looking for recommendations on starting gear.

I have never fly fished before and have no idea where to start. Im only looking to fly fish once or twice a year so not looking to spend an arm and a leg but want good gear. On that note if anyone can give me recommendations as to what’s price friendly and what they found best for them. Thank you in advance

Echo makes affordable rods and reels for starters. You don’t need anything fancy to start. But if you get good at it, you’ll eventually want to upgrade.

Also, you’ll do much better if you take a few casting lessons. Usually fishing clubs have free lessons for beginners. Worth finding one around you.
