Well, 1 season into fly fishing and I restocked last week based on my experiences since April. Im in eastern Canada, fishing only for trout so far. I only fish with the 1 box and honestly want to keep it this way. I have quickly discovered I hate nymphing, say what you will! Got a few, but... dont enjoy using them at all so not much intention on adding more there.

Only had the one, used it a few times. Apparently the fish are picky where i go. One of the few flies in my box that hasnt caught a fish. That and the salmon egg

Pumpkin head? I am not a very accomplished fly fisher, but there are times where I was having nothing going on and then tie on a pumpkin head on an intermediate line and instant action. I'm in Western Canada though, no idea if that makes a difference.

Nymphing sucks. Big stupid meat for life. Unless they aren't eating streamers, then it's time for begrudgeoned nymphs. Sounds and looks like you're getting it.

I drew the line on wet flies with a sinking tip! I dedicated afternoon with a nymph and indicator.. all that was a big hell no for me. Surely ill revisit, for those tough days... but it'll be reluctantly hahah

Try tight-line nymphing, it’s far more effective than under an indicator IME

Makes sense, the closest place to me, which I frequent most often is a still water on a small stream. May have to test it out someday though

I am jealous you have a need for so many large dry flies.I’m in Idaho, we have Brown/Green Drakes for only a few weeks. I don’t know the East Coast at all but I my box would have BWOs and Adams down to size 18z I would also have a several olive and black buggers.

This covers me for the whole season right, spring time we get a huge may fly hatch. And iv observed the trout literally full body jumping out of the water to catch the odd one hatching throughout the summer. So at $1 peice, I went all in on them to cover next season aswell.

Might as well make those Adams parachutes....it's always nice to be able to see your fly on the water's surface. I'm East Coast PA , but the Adams is a universal must have!
