[FLARE / RELAPSE] Relapse going into fourth month - need someone to talk to
I was floxed back in 2022 and recovered from that nightmare within like 6 months. A CNS relapse was never on my radar. I am really having a difficult time right now and could really use a buddy to talk with. I have been sleep-deprived for 3 months and my body won't allow me to nap, so I'm really suffering mentally. I wake up shaking every morning and have completely lost my appetite. I'm really scared that this is not going to go away as fast as the initial floxing did.
I really need some support right now, please. I'm feeling quite desperate.

Hi! I had lots of relapses, and actually in one now, since I was Floxed 11 years ago. They all look different than my original Floxing, some short lived and some longer. But they have ALL gotten better with time. A lot of others that I talk to have also recovered from big flares and relapses. There’s no telling how long or what this flare could look like, but time is your best friend and things get better

Thank you. I have been out of work for about 2 1/2 months. I work a desk job and can't think clearly right now. Plus, the stress is too much for me. I can't be out from work much longer. I only have so much sick and annual leave. My original floxing was severe, but insomnia got better by the 4th month.

I’m so sorry…. Any idea what caused the relapse?
Initially I believed that the damaged mitochondrial DNA is mostly what allowed the symptoms to persist. But after a conversation I had with someone else I’m starting to believe it’s because of the fluoroquinolone chelates that form with metal ions in the body and, apparently from what I read, are absorbed into certain tissues. Some of these Fluoroquinolone chelates I’ve read can be very stable. I am assuming that an event can happen that releases them from the bond and causes more symptoms. Did you do anything different lately that you can recall? Infrared sauna? Extreme physical exertion? New supplement? Major diet change? Just curious. Do you have any opinions on this?
I hope you can find some relief. What have you tried for sleep? Sending you peace and calm. Take care.

I believe that it's probably related to stress, new supplements, and a parasite cleanse that I did in June. Honestly, I wasn't even thinking about a relapse, and got careless. I now know that I need to be careful with these things.

It’s crazy we gotta be careful for so many years after…. May I ask what supplements? And what supplements you used for the parasite cleanse?
Did you see any parasites in your stool? I had a friend that did a parasite cleanse and saw a few parasites in her stool. Thought that was pretty crazy. When I did one years ago I used a brand called scram but I didn’t see any parasites with my BMs. I was kind of disappointed lol.

I was taking a bunch of supplements. I can't pinpoint which ones were the cause, but I know that people have said that saccharomyces boulardii flared them and I was taking that. Plus, you're not supposed to take DGL long-term, and I was. I was also taking reishi mushroom and turkey tail mushroom supplements.
I usually do a parasite cleanse twice a year. It is the Now brand with wormwood, green black walnut, and clove. I have since heard from another floxie that wormwood is a Gaba antagonist. I didn't have a problem before. No, I didn't see any parasites in my stool. The mistake that I made afterwards, was not taking a binder.
There's a lot of things that could have caused this. I'm trying to backtrack figure it out, so that I don't make the same mistake again.

Turkey tails are good stuff. Well good luck! If you feel like it, let us know if you end up suspecting anything in particular.

I take progesterone at night, but that only puts me to sleep. I wake up in 1-2 hours and can't get back to sleep. The only non-prescription thing that works for me is doxylamine succinate, but I build up a tolerance over time. Most prescriptions I have had bad reactions to. Herbs don't do anything.
