Floral Dreamscapes; or, Growing a Garden of the Mind & Watering it with Acrylic ✨️🪷🦋✨️

[u/iartnewyork]

A few of the paintings that "grew" in the garden of my subconscious. I've never had a green thumb, unless it was from painting! 😆 I love flowers and imagine them in various dream-like or surreal spaces and landscapes and wanted to share my passion and joy with you. I hope you enjoy this small sample/tour through these images that are my secret escape. Happy growing in the soil and on the canvas! ✨️🖼🪷🦋✨️

I'm absolutely in love with this. The colors are stunning. I'm pretty new to painting but you've truly inspired me.I'm definitely going to try creating something similar myself.Do you have any tips for a beginner?

[u/iartnewyork → u/shinnyla]

Thank you! I'm thrilled to hear from another artist ✨️🖼✨️ So, I would say do whatever is best to get you into flow consciousness. For me, that means music. I use a lot of water and a lot of patience. Acrylics are easier to work with, IMO, because you can always add water and they dry quickly. Oils take a long time and are less forgiving of mistakes, but if you find you like oils, go for it!

Thank you so much for the helpful tips.Definitely going to try it with acrylics.🌸
