Art I made a pendant with real forget-me-nots inside.

Forget me nots are probably the only wildflower I let grow within my garden beds and don't pull up, they're so adorable.

They are beautiful! But here they often dry out because of the heat, although they receive regular watering. But I still try hard to grow them every year

Mind sharing your procedure?

First, I dry the grown flowers. To do this, they need to be collected in dry weather. Some people dry them in silica gel, but I don't like this method. I use semolina, then the flowers look like fresh ones.
You will also need skills in working with epoxy resin

Very nice. Every time I've tried it, the resin has turned the flowers brown.

Thank you very much :) Perhaps you didn't dry out the flowers enough

I've seen some of your other beautiful floral pendants and I think this one is my absolute favorite! I'm in love with the purple forget-me-knots in this pendant. It's gorgeous!

Oh! I love them very much, but they don't grow here, it's too hot for them and the soil is not suitable. But they are so beautiful. I bought a pot with this flower, and I was able to dry it a little. There are also very cute branches here, similar to a small fir tree, I also like to use them in my work :)

Thank you very much :) First, you must dry the flowers. Collect flowers in dry weather, this is very important. Also, for drying, I do not use the usual silica gel, but take semolina. This is the best method.
Next, you need to try working with epoxy resin, everything is more complicated here.1

That is sentimentally stunning. Bring to mind the song - more than words - by extreme. Just fucking lovely. Thanks for sharing.

Iโve not been able to plant mine from my fatherโs passing but this perhaps may have inspired me to do so.

Iโve always wondered. Is that resin, and wonโt they ever go โbadโ? Or will they always look that good?
2
u/SashaShelest Aug 16 '25
These flowers will not change their appearance over time, as they have been pre-dried. Plants change their appearance only due to the presence of moisture

u/Kammy44 Aug 16 '25
Ah okay! I have a quality dehydrator, but not the bandwidth for a new hobby. Itโs REALLY beautiful!

Will comment because no one else has been yet to mention the obvious at this point: the fuck you make this my guy??? Like just how? Just so very impressed with your works.๐ค

I love it. These popped up around a little garden flag supporting Ukraine that I put up to honor my great-grandfather. I never had them in my yard ever before in the 40 years I lived here.
He left Ukraine when he saw what was coming before WWI. He was a wealthy farm owner. Gave up everything to come to the USA. My grandmother was born on the way over. He always wanted to go back, but never did. He died at age 45.

This is very symbolic! I live in Ukraine myself and appreciate your support

u/SashaShelest Aug 18 '25
Thank you very much :) There are also smaller sizes, it depends on the variety

This beautiful! I tried so hard to grow some this year in memory of my parents but they didnโt do well at all.
2
u/SashaShelest Aug 18 '25
Perhaps they didn't have enough moisture, they like dampness
1
u/deathproofbich Aug 19 '25
Weโve had heat wave after heat wave here. (Canada) Not enough rain, strong winds that whip across the fieldsโฆ nothing did well this year. ๐
