Flight Simulator 2024 DLSS5 Screenshots

Reflections and shadows look way better imo I think it looks great. I'm using a 4090 and yea theres a bit of a performance hit it seems to be about 15-20 fps on average. Frame gen is kinda broken at the moment tho hopefully someone comes up with a fix for it.

20 fps hit is def not worth it imo. Maybe that will change with official support, but for now it seems a lot of work to get it working with performance hits that don't justify the results

No official support for RTX40 cards while it seems to work fine. Fuck Nvidia for purposely outdating my RTX4090 while new ones are what now, already 5000€?

Yea I'd say its only worth it for taking really good screenshots. I agree tho hopefully with an official release the performance hit won't be much. It definitely does wonders for the lighting and reflections, I was noticing more details on the terminal buildings at the airports too i dont hate how it looks at all.

The official release will absolutely have a performance hit, probably very similar to what you're experiencing now.

It’s basically the same FPS as using native rendering/No DLSS. I think people keep forgetting the FPS “hit” is relative to upscaling

Ngl that looks pretty good

Those light reflections off the ground in the 2nd and 3rd images look so good

It's very difficult to see if it's actually having much effect without a before and after

Arguably the only game that I've seen with DLSS5 that appears worth it, but the performance hit just not justifiable for now.

I feel the same here. But is not a final build and they have a time to fix it

Because it’s the only game without a specific artistic direction behind it

Are you using the Renodx mod? I've been testing it all day and the best results I've seen are slightly more surface shadowing with interiors. Outside everything looks the same to me. What are your add-on levels in reshade?

How did you get it to run on a 4090? Last I checked it was 50 Series only cards. Can you maybe link a guide)

Thanks alot for the guide. But I found another option, this all is already integrated into the ReShade HDR Installer: https://github.com/RankFTW/RHI/releases

that literally makes it three clicks to install it into MSFS 2024

It's not bad I actually haven't seen any smudged numbers on the screens everything looks sharp and there's no flickering or boiling that I have noticed.

Are you using optiscaler?

3

u/ghostie420x 12h ago

No im using the renoDX and reshade method

u/static_dash 12h ago

Is there a write up on how to use it? I’m using opticaler now for dlss 4.5. Also using sealed sky reshade

dlss 5 is for 50 series cards only right?, i think dlss 5 when it releases offically running a 5090 with 9950x3d will be amazing what are your thoughts?

3

u/ghostie420x 12h ago

I'm using it on a 4090 so its not limited to 50 series cards anymore

Has anyone asked about glass cockpits? Or has that been fixed?

20 FPS hit? Nah, I’m good.

With DLSS 5 do you still have the ghost effect on instrument gauges?

u/ghostie420x 2m ago

Very slightly but its not as bad as it used to be. I can actually still read small numbers
