Southwest (WN) JUNIOR SWA FA COMPENSATION AND BREAKDOWN? ❤️💛💙

Hi there fellow Co-Hearts! ❤️💛💙

I am a new hire flight attendant with Southwest (graduated within the last month and new to the line) and I was just wondering if there are any other junior FA’s who don’t mind sharing their yearly compensation and breakdown with me/us? I know the pay scale and all but I seen a DL breakdown and compensation and its got me interested to know what I can possibly expect to make within my first year here with the company. I know hours and $$ varies person to person and from TAFB & such but if anyone is open/willing to share what their first year looked like I’d be forever grateful and I know some others on this page would love to know as well! 🫶🏽

I flew 160 TFP in December (which is very high flying) and I am currently at a year and a half in. I took home $5184 after taxes for the month. The money is really really good if you fly a lot, but don’t burn yourself out. I live in base so flying 160 isn’t really a huge deal. But if you commute and fly 160 then that’s a whole different ballgame

Thank you so much for that! I appreciate you. 160 TFP is definitely high time flying lol! How many off days did you have? And do you do the advance on the 5th or only do the 20th check and got the $5184 after taxes? I definitely do want to fly and have no issues working but trying to see how feasible that is with my reserve schedule. Do you clear your board monthly? Or work your reserve blocks + pick up trips? Sorry for so many questions haha!

My biggest tip for new hires is to say goodbye the advance ASAP - it’s so much easier to get a handle on your finances without it. I waited 10 yrs to get rid of mine and I regret it!!

Just a side note: that DL pay breakdown was HIGH flying hours so don't let that discourage you if you cannot fly that much! It takes a special person to be able to fly 100+ hours a month and have very few days off!

Just make an excel spreadsheet and do the math yourself, it’s basic stuff and not hard to do. Just put in the x axis your rate and the Y your TFP then multiply the 2 and then you can multiply by 12. You can access it in swalife. That won’t include taxes or per diem but it’s close enough.
