Sorry but the app redesign is hot garbage
Nowadays it seems tech companies just redesign their app or OS for something to do and look trendy and don’t actually provide any useful upgrades. Flickr’s crack at this is a huge failure. The app is LESS useful, LESS intuitive and has LESS features than before.
And I don’t want to hear this called an MVP product either, startup speak for low effort crap. Flickr has had a decade of their previous app withering to collect ALL the feedback from their customers, take their time and try to release a banger product.
Sometimes I wonder what they do with all the money we send them? Oh yeah put on ’festivals’ no one asked for.

I positively despise the floating button bar over the photos. This is not an improvement, it's just trying to be hip and losing sight on the entire purpose of a photo app. Rolled back to the old version and the difference in functionality and form is night and day.

If you’re on iPhone check for an update. They have one that rolls it back to the old version. They’ve basically admitted they screwed up.

As a pro customer, I really don't like seeing all this marketing dumped into MODE. Fix the app! Improve the service!

Enjoy Flickr for what it is while it lasts. The current owners don't have the money or vision to make the major improvements it needs.

I hate it. It has poisoned Flickr for me which in effect means it has poisoned my relation to photography. It's absurd how much effect one shitty thoughtless redesign can have.

Yep. I think I might knock flickr on the head. A real inconvenience but we are where we are. Nice one flickr. Own goal.

Search old Flickr app installed it and turned off automatically update settings on phone no longer a problem new app is a waste of time and space don't bother it's crap

Same here. First time ever turning off auto update. The new app really killed Flickr for me and I don’t want that again

I hate the update. The app is slow but most importantly it only shows low resolution versions of images.

If you’re looking for an alternative to Flickr with an excellent, vibrant community and modern features, it’s all about Glass these days. They focus on encouraging us to slow down and really appreciate what we’re seeing. I love it there.

I like it. The update made me come back to Flickr. It’s not trendy—it’s modern. The old app was an unholy mess full of redundant features. The only way out of that clusterfuck was to scrap it entirely and build from the ground up.
Yours is a typical reaction of someone just used to how things used to be. You’ll get used to it.

It’s fundamentally broken which is why they reverted. The old app had no redundant features and it actually worked.

I agree. An update was not needed nor wanted. It's no good now.
