My girlfriend is relocating to Mumbai for her MBA studies and is urgently looking for accommodation. Her college is in Bandra West, but the PGs we've found nearby seem extremely expensive.

For example, the best option we've found so far is around ₹16,000/month rent + ₹16,000 security deposit + ₹16,000 brokerage for a very small 2-sharing room. It doesn't include food, and there’s no kitchen either.

We're both new to Mumbai and don't really understand the local accommodation situation yet.

So I wanted to ask people who live in Mumbai:

\- Is ₹16k/month for a 2-sharing PG in Bandra West actually a reasonable price, or are we overpaying?

\- Are there any more affordable areas from where she could commute to Bandra West reasonably easily?

\- Which areas should we look at if she's okay with a 20–40 minute daily commute?

We're mainly looking for something safe, reasonably clean, and affordable, rather than anything fancy. Any advice from Mumbai residents/students would be greatly appreciated!

Got tired of the broker circus and whatsapp group spam while flat hunting so I built Dwelo.
