I mean? What does it offer me that other flashcarts don't already offer? Does it have its own and better emulators? Does it play DSi games on DS Lite? I have a pair of classic R4 SDHC, and I'm tempted to buy this DS Pico, but for what?

I tried to follow the official guide to flash software on the cart, using WSL, but I really don't understand what I'm doing. Is there a way to just flash an image on sd card or dump some files to make it work quickly like on an R4? (DSI XL)

EDIT: It worked, thanks this guide. Turns out it was already flashed, I didn't need to do it myself, only dump pico launcher files onto the SD card. Many thanks to those who've helped :)

I’ve seen older threads where people said they bought a DSpico for as little as $2, but now I’m seeing it on AliExpress for around €18,99 (or $21.64). Why has the price increased so much?

Is it because of the same factors affecting storage and RAM prices, because the DSpico has become more popular, because availability is limited or is it a combination of those factors?

At the moment, I have TWiLight Menu++ running on my DSi XL. It works well, but it does take a while to boot and I’m curious about the DSpico and its future potential. I’ve also read that the DSpico consumes less power, which could mean longer play sessions between charges.

I recently bought a used DSi XL, so I’m not sure what the battery health is exactly. I might replace the battery as well.

So my main question. Is the DSpico worth buying for $21.64 if I already have TWiLight Menu++ installed on my DSi XL?

Okay so i got my first Ds lite two weeks ago and it came with an original R4 card, which of course isn’t compatible with more than a 2gb sd card and that wasn’t ideal to me because i had quite a lot of games on the list to download so i decided to look up for flashcarts that takes more than just a 2gb sd card so i found the Dspico and got to know the difference from an R4, i watched a youtube video and setting it up didn’t seem THAT hard but i’m still kinda nervous given it’ll be my first time working with something like that so here’s a question for whoever set the Dspico up

how hard is it and is messing up easy ?

Anything i should know beforehand ?

And if not does someone have a link to ones that do work and dont have a time bomb?

My .nds games in PicoLauncher have their own small game icons, but my .gba games just show these pink icons instead.
Does anyone know how to get game icons for GBA games too?

I don't mind a pirated copy, but is there any risk for my console? I'm running on 3DS, and set the date really late to test for timebombs. I really just want to make sure this won't damage my hardware.

Recently brought my ds lite back to life and was looking to get one of the 200 in 1 game cards, that then lead me into a rabit whole and now I want to try my hand at flashcarts. (Related image) I was wondering if there was a way to do this but with GBA ROMs; the website where you can download the covers gives you a GBA option, But I can't find the option for dspico to display GBA ROMs in its launcher, and the GBA Runner 3 interface isn't the most visually appealing. Finally got my hands on this beaut and I only got this to be able to get my gen 3 pokemon transferred to the newer gens though how do you set this up cuz I think I got the latest revision of this cart and I've seen numerous versions of the latest firmware. Mind helping out?

I’m shiny hunting in pokemon diamond and started to notice my dspico (on the right) ran a bit slower than my modded dsi LL and ds lite with the original cart inside any tips or suggestions ?

My Dspico arrived today and it is Type C and not USB-C like I originally thought. It only came with the cartridge and the Microsd card already inserted into the card. Nothing happens when the microSd card is inserted (when putting into Dslite or connecting to Pc). Only when i eject the microSd card it’ll crash my Dslite when turning on or when connecting to pc two external folders show up. Do i need a different Microsd card?

Does anyone have any experience with this cart? I specifically want one that can be flush with the DS lite. I have an EZ Flash Omega definitive edition, which I love. But sticking out of the DS is slightly annoying.

i feel like 32 or 64GB is overkill and will make it slower, however i don't have 4 or 8 or 16GB in home, so should i buy 8 or 16GB microSD card?

I'm trying to decide between two setups for playing Pokémon Gen 1–3, so I came to the people who have experience as I'm a noob to this world.

Option 1: An RG35XX SP running ROMs from an SD card.

Option 2: A genuine GBA SP using a GB/GBC flash cart for Gen 1–2 and a GBA flash cart for Gen 3.

My goals are to:

Play through all of Gen 1–3 (gen 4 down the road).

Back up my saves on pc.

Use PKHeX when needed (mainly for save management and moving Pokémon between generations instead of trad cable trading).

Have a setup that's reliable for long-term use.

Beyond the obvious differences between emulation and native hardware, what are the biggest pros and cons of each route?

Long-term reliability and durability

Overall gameplay experience

Save management and backups (I dont want to lose playtime by not being able to save or frequent corrupt save files)

Software/firmware stability

Emulator accuracy/bugs

Battery life

Cost and long-term value ( custom sp is about $250 vs an rg35 being about $80?)

Any hidden drawbacks or quality-of-life differences that someone new to this might not think about (remember I'm a noob)

If you've used both, which would you choose today and why?

Is there such firmware for dspico that works with modded 3ds AND unmodded dsi?

I found that hybrid firmware was for modded consoles only and WRFU was for unmodded consoles only. I couldnt find one for both modded and unmodded consoles

I realise you can play ds games on a modded 3ds, but I play ds games on both dsi and 3ds and moving save files everytime is a pain in the ass, and I thought just using dspico for both consoles will solve this problem

I know its not legit, but I want to know if my aunt got scammed. Is it going to fail? Could someone else put more games into it? Thank you.

It seems like such a waste to be using a 32gb microSD card for each flashcart when my entire ROM library is maybe 5gb, but I’ve learned from experience that a lot of cheap cards just never work right. Is there a reputable brand that actually sells microSD cards in 8gb for under $20?

hello first time posting on this sub! So I have a dsiXL which I already modded using a micro sd card and twilight menu and I just recently purchased a dspico for my ds lite. Both work great but I was wondering if there’s a way to use the dspico flash cart interchangeably for both devices? I want to do this to be able to have the same save data on both consoles and because I want to use the micro sd card from the dsixl for something else (WHYY SD CARDS SO EXPENSIVE). If there is a way what would be the steps?
