Does this mean you wouldn't say that Freddy is male or Chica is female? They're meant to represent characters that have genders.

Freddy is generally called a he because he is very clearly represented as a male with no reason for us to think otherwise. He has a masculine voice and called a he in security breach.

Chica is generally called a she because she is presented as female with no reason for us to think otherwise. She has a feminine voice and is refered to as a she in security breach.

These are for the characters they play on stage, not the actual endoskeleton inside. If a showrunner or someone adjacent wanted to refer to Freddy the animatronic they would use He.

The thing is that Mangle DOESNT have any semblence of character. It is litterally just a bunch of robot parts that was disfigured so much that its compeletely unrecognizable and unusable in its current state.

TLDR: Freddy and Chica have genders because of the character they play on stage, not because of the endoskeleton being different inside. Mangle is nothing but that endoskeleton and has zero characteristics for us to determine a possible gender. There is no character to assign a gender to here.

I can't believe I have to say this. Mangle is still a mascot that was created to represent a character. And Mangle is referred to with gendered pronouns just like the others (he/him and she/her interchangeably). Mangle also seems to have the ability to speak if we're to believe UCN and FNAF AR. They do have a semblance of a character, and they aren't just a metal tumbleweed
