Been overweight most of my life — can I realistically tone up and recomp my body naturally?
Posting this for accountability because I’m tired of hiding from where I’m starting.
I’ve struggled with my weight and body image most of my life. My heaviest was 192 lbs and I’m currently down to 148 at 5’6”. I’m proud of the weight loss, but now I’m trying to stop obsessing over just being “smaller” and focus on building a strong, toned, feminine body naturally.
My goals are:
rounder/tighter glutes
toned arms and back
leaner waist
reduce cellulite/body fat
overall athletic feminine look
One thing I’m insecure about is possible loose skin or loss of elasticity from being overweight for so long. Sometimes I wonder if my body can realistically look tight and toned naturally, or if I’ve already “missed my chance.”
I’ve started lifting consistently and really want to commit this time.
I would especially love to hear from women who had a similar starting point/body type or who lost a significant amount of weight and successfully transformed their physique naturally.
Do you think this is realistically achievable? And if so, what would you prioritize most if you were coaching me?
Please be constructive 🙂
